Hello all, I fell into the stupid payday loan trap last year after getting stranded abroad by the ashcloud while skint (excuses, excuses...). I was eventually using them to the point where my wages were swallowed up and I needed to take out new loans. Anyway, I cancelled my debit card and defaulted two of them in September last year; namely, £500 to Payday Express and £75 to Quickquid. Now I am trying to sort out my finances, which obviously means clearing these outstanding amounts. However, none of them has appeared on my credit file. I can't afford to pay in one go so would need to set up a payment plan. But I am worried that once I get in touch with them again, they will simply add defaults to my credit file. I have other debts which are affecting my credit file, so I feel it makes more sense to deal with those more pertinently. But what should I do with these payday loan defaults in the meantime; contact them to show I am committed to paying them off, or just staying quiet for the moment in the hope they won't put defaults on my file? Thanks for your help guys.
