  1. Im sure by law they are supposed to supply the information they have on you. I first received a letter of them in 2008 to the wrong address for a slight bump in 2002. It took them 6 years to attempt to contact me and still didnt get it right. Its been 10 years now, even more statute barred, which is what they already know that these dodgy claims of debt are. Let us know if you hear anything else.
  2. Hello dimmickc4 did you have any reply from mib for the SAR? Its been well over 40 days now.
  3. Im sorry here im no proffesional, but I just dont understand were you think this is sb, its obviously not debt barred as its well within 6 years when the debt was created and the person has obviously put the pi claim in within the 3 years limit as you say the accident was in july 2007 and you noticed the ccj in aug 2010. your situation is alot different to other people on this thread as yours seems to be within time and its actually the mib and there solicitors who are chasing you and not a dodgy dca like ccm who've bought up a load of time barred debts and are trying there luck. I could be completely wrong, can you explain why you thinks its sb?
  4. Hi just an update from me, a neighbour from of my mums received a letter end of april and then 1 mid may, ive just sat on it to see if they would send more or locate me at my address but 7 weeks gone by and absolutely nothing has happened, no letters at all nothing, scare monkeys. jasper1965 could you have a quick look through my situation please its near the bottom of page 12 and let me know what you think thanks alot.
  5. The only letter ive read is from ccm an i got this when i went to one of my mums neighbors an he gave me the letter, its got my name on the front but my mums neighbors address on it. this is why i cant undestand why mib have never located me at my mums addres or my new home, wierd
  6. Its a tough decision to make, i dont know if to open up talks with them an try an fight them back an risk getting shafted or just wait till they can be bothered finding me at my house an try an deal with them then. thanks for your replys
  7. bazooka boo I need to know if its definateley statute barred before I try to fight back, I dont want to fight back if I havent got a leg to stand on, a poster called gannymede posted this a while back in the thread which worries me. "If it is an uninsured claim with the MIB then the 3 year rule applies, however if it is an untraced claim with the MIB then there is no limitation period" If they have been sending letters and trying to contact me at the wrong address all these years, were do I stand? if they had my correct reg, name but wrong address does this make me untraceable? and therefore no limitation period? and ive read few people asking does the time start from the moment I crashed or when he received the money but theres been no real answer, as mine was 8 years ago but the claim may have taken over 2 years or so to payout? any advise would be helpfull thanks
  8. What if as in my case they didnt even send the letter to the correct address or even town, what happens if you get a cc and dont even see it, what happens then? Bazzerj please have a read of my story so far on the same thread for this, an let me know what you think please
  9. Hello ive got the same problem as you, ive posted on the other forum after you, ive been told of a work colleague who has the same probelm but hes had letters coming to him for over 3 years first from experto credite and now this close credit he just laughs at them and throws them in the bin, exactly the same threateing letters "contact us in 7 days or you MAY have a ccj and other stuff put against you, but experto credite never did nothing and they must have sold his so called debt to this close credit whos having a go,theyre chancers hopeing that just one person out of a batch of hundreds of thousands will cave in and stupidly pay it, if you havent made any payment to them or aknowledged that you are liable in writing in the last 6 years they cannot do anything to you, theyre just trying it on and seeing which suckers will fall for these nasty tricks, if the mib genuinely thought they could take you to court and get money of you they would of done it years ago, ignore the letters, change yer phone number if theyre are hasseling you, they will soon get bored, and eventually sell it on to some other dca company who will send you the same threatening letters which these lot have. only take notice of the letter if its an official one from a court but I doubt itll come to that.
  10. I have read it all and the information is excellent, do you think I should act against this even though its not coming to the correct address or even the correct town to me, or just wait and see if they can be bothered to find me, which I think if they were really serious about this so called debt they would have located me in the last 8 years, I was still living with my mother up to 4 years ago, it surely wouldnt have been hard.
  11. Hello ive got a similar problem, in may 2003 I was young and very foolish, as I was in the process of selling my car I let the insurance run out only by a few days, unfortunatley I took the car out of the garage one day and bumped into the back of someone, ive always had insurance before and after, we both got out the cars and could see there was no damage to either car, but I gave the bloke my name and address and phone number incase he noticed something later, but he never contacted me, this was over 8 years ago. Now 3 days ago I went to my mums house and she had a letter posted through her door for a house 30 odd doors away so I went round to drop it off as I did so the man said ive got a letter for you here it came last week he said, I opened the letter and it was off this close credit management saying I owe them 20k, on behalf of the mib, its got the year the accident happened and the reg of the car I had I think it is anyway its that long ago im not 100% sure, its got the same threatening stuff on it as the rest of everyone elses letters on here, its not signed looks quite cheap to be honest. I dont live with my mother anymore I moved and bought my own house, ive had cars and loans so I couldnt ever have had a ccj against me or anything, I just cant understand why the mib couldnt find me, they had my reg surely they could find my correct address off the dvla, electoral roll or something, is this so called debt classed as statute barred? plus they never attempted to find me so I could defend myself. I have no idea how many letters have been sent the address 30 odd doors from my mums as man as only recently moved there. I have to 2 small boys and im so worried about what mite happen, someone I know told me these dca's just buy a load of old debt for pennies and just send letters trying there luck, they will proberbly never actually do anything, Ill admit if these letters were going to my mums or even my house I would definately do something about it, has anyone got any advise for me it would be very much appreciated thanks
