Hello all, this is my first post so go easy on me Cancellation- I put in my cancellation request with David Lloyd in Jan 2011 , to end at the end of April 2011, During this course, i was pushed by a sales person (Robin) to cancel my cancellation which i did, however 1 hour later after being in the gym , i told the same sales person Robin that actually i just wanted to cancel my membership as planned at the end of April, she said ''this is fine i will put the cancellation of the cancellation form'' in the bin'' ... however on the 26 May i have had a letter saying my details have been passed to ARC Europe, a debt collection agency, because i haven't payed my May fee of 50.70 David Lloyd have also added an additional payment of 70 pounds. After reading this letter on the 28th May (having just arrived back from a week abroad) I Rang the club straight away and was told very sarcastically by Jonny (on the sales team) that it was out of there hands and my unpaid fee has gone to the debt collectors. when i asked if he had copys of my details he laughed and said ''well i haven't got them with me''. So i asked to speak to the duty manager and Jonny said that he was the manager. Therefore i asked for his email address (which he wouldnt give me, as he said this matter is no concern of his) and he said it is membership'at'davidlloyd.co.uk. following this i said ''right ill come in then''. On arriving at reception (20 mins later) I spoke to Duncan and asked for the duty manager as i had just spoken to him on the phone, Duncan looked confused as he hadn't spoke to anybody via the telephone this morning and that infact he was the duty manager!! Obviously with this, Jonny was too embarrassed to discuss to come to reception, and Adam? (i think) came out and explained the situation with a bit more compassion explaining that there is nothing they can do, However i can re-apply my cancellation from today 28th May 2011 with my agreement ending at the end of august (Which i will not do as a matter of principle). I asked for all of my details, Adam gave me a copy of my original cancellation request, but couldn't find the form that Robin had thrown in the bin at my request! Although Adam did say that although the (cancellation of the cancellation form) was probably thrown in the bin. My details were input on the system and therefore i am still a member and there is nothing he can do!!!!!!! where do i go from here?
