Hi - Quick update from my earlier comments of 5/4/11 @ 1804. Following no joy at all with local VW dealers (VW Northampton) I spoke direct with VAG customer services (the very helpful and courteous Rachel Coleman) and after a few calls, a trip to another dealer, a few more calls and some negotiation, VAG have agreed to pay 75% of the full cost of 2 new wings (includes blowing in/matching etc). This equates to about £250 i pay / £750 VAG pay. Whilst I accept the warranty is for 12 years, for a car that is now 11 years old and has covered 80,000 miles (albeit one private owner and very well cared for) - I think VAG have been pretty reasonable here. It is booked in for repair in August and I will also get a free courtesy car. I would have preferred the deal secured by mwee (6/4/11 @ 10.43) but I dont think I've done too badly.

Hi - similar problem with my 2002 passat estate. Ive had it from new, fsh, really well looked after, no accident damage and rust bubbles on the top of the front two wheel arches. I've read the collective entries on this section with real interest as my local dealer has proved to be at various stages either inneffective / disinterested / impotent. I have the wrong date of birth to navigate my way around the internet - so can anyone help me with the email address for martin winterkorn? Thanks
