  1. Westcot representative? i have nothhing to do with them at the present time
  2. I do suffer form dyslexia and did not think a place like this forum would be so discrimanating
  3. i would just offer what you see resonable and get the account closed but thats me anything for an easy life. dealing with barcleys on a daily basis i know that trying to get this defult removed from your file now is very rare and I think you would have a very small chance if any of getting this done. I would offer the settalment when the acc is with them as i actualy work for a DRC and know when it gets to passed to some other companies 50%+ settalments are not as easy to come by as they are with wescot x
  4. have you offerd full and final settalment of the account by paying the 50% of the ballance you are not disputing? normaly wescot will accept offers like this - obv they wont offer it to you but if you just call them say you are in financial hardship you have no income you are on JSA (THEY DONT CHECK THIS) and a family member is willing to pay "x amount" to close the account 99.9% of the time the offer will be accepted and the acc will be closed and get them to email or post confermation of acc closed
  5. They can still atempt to collect the debt but 99.9% of the time will write off as its a waste of time and money trying to collect as no action can be taken and it can no longer make an impact on your credit file (explaining why you are not having any propblem gaining credit) to be honest most that work with wescot are normal average people like myself doing the best we can to support our familys and do understand and apreciate peoples situation and its not money you personaly owe us and dispite of what people may think wescot staff do not work on commision bassed and bonous are not actualy based on collections but on our call content and quality so it actualy benafits the advisor more to give you correct relavant info x
  6. normaly the defult is issued onto the credit file by the cliant and not wescot so they would be unable to remove it from your file.
  7. 1st check the date on the letter was it sent b4 you dispute was loged? as they are actualy autamated letters and its not someone personaly that sends them but info from the computer. if the letter has actualy been sent after the dispute was logged call back wescot advise them of the dispute and check for an updte......it is more than likely that wescot have referd the dispute back to there cliant (abby) who are very slow at getting back to wescot and the account has atomatacley came off hold and generated you a letter. any more help needed let me know x
  8. Hi! bit of inside info for you..........when they next contact you just tell them the acc is in fact SB and you will not be deling with them. working for them I know this is enough fo them to get the acc withdrawn if the information they hold does not show any payments or writen corespondance accepting liabilty x
