Hi all I work 24 hrs a week my partner is currently unemployed ,I claim working tax and child tax credits and get housing benefitI have a 14 yr old daughter,my son who turned 20 in june was in college until he got a job on may 13th,I informed the HB and all other relevant depts,as soon as he recieved his wage slips I sent them to the housing benefit dept,got receipts for them,some of them I even took into one of thier life centres,this is where the problem started. The person who took the information didnt take the correct wage down on the paperwork ,she wrote down the NET not the GROSS but they didnt inform me of this if I hadnt phoned to check the status of the claim I wouldnt have known anything,anyway i took the wage slips again and this time i made them take photocopies of the wages and send them to the correct dept. Because they didnt have the correct information they said they would automatically put him down at earning £999 A MONTH so I wasnt entitled to any help with the rent,when they recieved the wageslips again they worked it out and am now happy with the result BUT Due to my fluctuating wage I ended up with an overpayment of HB , we have come to an arrangement to pay this back, today I have recieved my first payment since 4th june,but it is only for this months rent I was told that the claim would be backdated and i would recieve the money ,which I have already paid to my landlord. I have phoned them today asking when will I get the backpay of housing benefit,only to be told that I wont that it has been taken off my overpayment debt. My question is since it was thier mistake and it has taken from may13th to now to sort out ,and I have had to use all my wage to pay rent,can they do this? surely if I need to claim housing benefit I am unable to pay full rent but that is what I have had to do. I am penniless ,my bills have been paid and my rent paid but I was depending on this back payment to get my daughters uniform,which I have explained to them on more than one occasion as was assured everytime that I would get the payment as soon as they sorted it out hope this makes sense and thanks in advance

have even thought of getting a paper round reckon i cud make that last 4 hours otherwise am going to lose out big time financially someone else on another forum suggested getting an ebay account and making up 4 hrs that way,gonna ave to do something lol xx

Hi all 2 yrs ago my partner lost his job I work part time and we started to claim WFTC and CTC my oter half has been looking for work and last summer manged to do a few small gardening jobs,at the moment he is not employed .I work 20 hrs at our local mini supermarket ,I got a letter the other week informing me that my WFTC will stop from 6th april but I will continue to get CTC this is due to me only working 20hrs,they now need you to work 24hrs in order to claim.I have asked at work if there is any chance of getting an extra 4 hrs (knew it was pointless to ask as they have just lost 72hrs and still say we are over our wae budget!!!!) Does anyone know i there is anything replacing the WTC for low income families as to loose my WTC is going to leave a massive hole in my finances ,and we are struggling at the moment s god help us in April thanks for reading xx

I have spoken to them and explained my situation i have all relevant paperwork about financial situation together here. would photocopies posted to them help as for my medical situation I have managed for sometime now to control my anxiety attacks or avoid situations that bring them on so have been on any medication or under any counsellor and was quiet proud of this fact but now i can feel myself slipping slowly back down that slippery slope

i know we were lucky to get away with just a fine think the court took pity on us due to financial situation we were in although we arent in much better shape now thanks for reading and replyin thou

hi i know it was wrong but we had our virgin box upstairs in our living accomodation split and recieved virgin downstairs in the pub,this was done as a favour by someone who works for virgin does this change the facts?

hi 1st timer here long story short me and partner ran a pub for 2 years uptil july last year when our financial situation forced to abandon ship,we had to move into rented accomodation and since that date my partner has been unemployed,i work part time and recieve working and child tax credit we have 2 children aged 11 and 17 my eldest is in college at the moment. we got a magistrates court fine for showing the football,rugby etc and not using SKY,(we cudnt afford to pay them but cudnt afford not to show the sports) was ordered to pay £20 week which i did until aug then filled a means form to get more time to pay was granted this and payments reduced to £10 week i paid this for a few weeks then things got really tough and have recently found out that during this rough time i wasnt recieveing the right amount of child tax credit (was £40 a week short) when i sorted this out i set up a standing order for the £10 a week startin 16 nov,then just sat back and thought everything was fine,until 1 of my payments were returned,i contacted the enforcement office and asked why? they said they had sent 2 warning letter we didnt recieve these and due to no response they had issued a distress warrant,coincidently the distress warrant was issued on 16th november the date i had made 1st payment by standing order. Then marstons called and wanted full payment plus £200,explained that i had written to court to ask them to suspend the warrant as i had set payment up at the same time as warrant was issued and that we hadnt recieved their warningsthe court sent a letter back sayin the form i filled in was county court and that i would have to write to magistrates court (they both in same building so dont know why they cudnt have passed it over but he ho ) so wrote to magistrates court this would have been about 6-7 weeks ago i didnt hear anything so presumed that they were in the middle of processing it (was told by the court that they were 5-6 weeks behind with their paperwork and that things were running slow due to this) I have been puttin to 1 side the £10 week and with the money the court returned have £160 to pay off it now. but yesterday marstons called and demanded the money in full in a week,phoned the office and the best they could offer was payment to be made in full in 4 weeks or they are coming to remove goods,we havent let them in the house but the car is on the drive. my partner and I are not married and the car is registered to me can they take it?the debt is in his name I have today sent a letter to the court asking them to suspend the warrant can they do this? the lady at the enforcement office told me that only marstons can return it to the court. we dont dispute that we owe the money and that we have to pay it would rather deal with the court rather than marstons as they are snotty upity idiots that only see £££££'s. I suffer from anxiety have an overactive thyroid and the medication makes my anxiety worse but this is making me really ill,was doin really well at controlling it now i have to go back to docs and start again thanks for taking time to read
