  1. Hi, Similar to another post, I was dismissed from work in December for attendance reasons (due to health issues which are ongoing - possible industrial tribunal case). I'm on jobseekers and what little money we had in savings has now virtually gone. Quite apart from the difficulty in finding another job I am suffering from a health issue that now requires an operation - scheduled 3 months hence approx. The issue that I have is that the health problem is incapacitating and limits what I can do 'In the eyes of employers' e.g. could put myself or others at risk. Therefore, even temporary agency work is hard to find. I am applying for jobs with no success and I do want to work, however due to the above issues I don't know if I'd be termed as having a disability - albeit temporary hopefully. I do have an appointment with an advisor at the jobcentre next week regarding this. The problem though is that although my wife works, there's simply not enough money available to pay the bills. I gather I may be able to apply for interest support on the mortgage (which is interest only anyway) and possibly ESA but as for any other benefits I've no idea and to be honest, I'm very easily confused at the moment due to this health issue and am finding it very frustrating and difficult to get my head around things and what I should do. I'm more than a bit scared actually because whilst we have discrimination acts etc., the fact that I'm a certain age and saddled with this health issue means that I'd be lucky to get anything in the short term and as already stated, agency work is hard because of riders. I can hardly lie and say I'm ok because if I had an accident of some sort there'd be hell to pay. I'd be grateful for any advice/help. Thank you
