  1. Hiya guys. I was on a 24 month contract with Orange (which was due to end on the 30th June 2012) but I went into an Orange store last week (Tuesday 14th February) and was told i could pay off the remaining months of my contract at a reduced rate so I could upgrade early. While in store, they had to phone Orange and I made the payment over the phone to them (to pay off the remaining months at the reduced rate). After this I upgraded to the HTC Sensation and was very happy. Unfortunately, the next day I noticed dust had appeared under the screen, the following day, it was even worse. I did a quick Google search and found it appeared to be quite a common issue with the handset. As a result of this, I went back to the store and the very rude manager told me she could only replace it for the same model. I explained that it seemed to a common fault and that I didn't want the same handset as I didn't want the same issue in 'x' amount of days / weeks. She refused point blank to do this so I said that as I had only recently upgraded 2 days ago that I would like to exercise my right to cancel the upgrade, return the phone to them and cancel it. She told me that this is not something they did in store so I had to phone Orange. I phoned Orange on Friday 17th February and was told that they don't deal with 'retail' sales but after getting passed through a few people and explaining about the very rude manager I had to deal with I finally spoke to a supervisor who was very helpful and offered to send me a jiffy bag to send the phone to them and deal with them instead. Today (24th Feb) the Jiffy bag arrived and I posted it off today. I'm curious as to what my options are now :- - Do I have to continue with the upgrade or when Orange acknowledge they have received the phone can I cancel the upgrade? - If I cancel the upgrade because I have already paid off the remaining months contract I can cancel my contract with Orange? - Was the store manager being truthful with me? It's a shame I have had this issue as prior to this, I have bought 2 Pay As You Go phones with this store, taken out my original contract with them (a couple of years ago) and upgraded previously, taken out home broadband with them and extended my contract after 12 months, etc.
  2. A massive, massive thankyou to tomtom013. I have a PDL with Wonga and after athe loss of my job a couple of weeks ago there was no way I was going to be able to make the repayment of £350 on the due date. In attempt to get the situation sorted, I emailed their customer service address explaining my change in circumstances and my hope of setting up a payment plan, freezing intrest etc. I recieved a standard email back from them asking me to give them a call. I phoned them and was told that the only way to set up a payment plan was to let the payment fail on the due date and then phone them back (this would obviously incur more charges). As this is what I was told by their customer service representative I left it there and intended to follow her adivce. However, having seen tomtom013's letter he sent Wonga and the email addresses he sent it to late last night, I thought it was worth a try. I copied the format of the letter and sent it of the the addresses he used and by 9 this morning I had an emai from Wonga agreeing to a payment plan of £50ish per month for 6 months (which is what I asked for), their account details and agreed to freeze all intrest and further charges. So thankyou tomtom013 I am so grateful for your help. I realise that a debt of £350 isnt masive to some but in my circumstances it was huge and the thought of missing payment dates and intrest and charges being added and seeing that figure spiral out of control has been a cause for serious worry in recent weeks.
