  1. Ended up ringing them. Yeah I know its not advise able to do so but want this sorted as soon as possible and charges and interest are mounting up Just to confirm letter said nothing about a reason Got told on phone that charges and interest wont stop seek advise from CCCS. Told them I did that already and got told to send letters about charges and interest to stop and token payments but then got told that account cant be closed and charges and interest cant be stopped Would take a while to account to close from they end but in the mean time you get charges and interest LOL what a joke.. Knew phone call wouldn’t get me anywhere so going to have to write letter. But just a pain in the back side sorting this out
  2. Hi thanks for reply Yes I enclosed a Budget Planner as its something I do with all debts now to save time sending letters back and fourth Yes I got a letter from them stating this. Don’t think it said I reason just said we couldn’t stop charges and interest but I will double check with the letter and repost what the letter said word for word
  3. i did this by sending them letter explaing Financial Difficult and got told barclays wont stop the charges and interest. and that i should seek advice from CCCS or debt line ive dealt with CCCs in the past for advice and i got told to write letters to other debts and offer a £1 token payment which went fine without anyproblems, at the time my overdraft was in control but as ive moved home due to family reasons im unable to pay any overdraft back i either quoted my CCCS number in the letter aswell cleary barclays took no notice of that is it worth just sending another letter of the same thing?
  4. Could someone please tell me the correct barclays address just so i can confirm i sent it to the right address thank you
  5. Thanks for the replies I don’t think I have any unfair changes with my current account, I probably did maybe 6+ years ago when I didnt get an overdraft and was getting £30 fees for something cant remember what for now. Ive sent them a letter to request freezing the charges and interest just waiting a reply now
  6. Thank you for the reply, I already have a different bank account elsewhere and my money is paid into that I will call Barclays later today and offer them token payments and see what outcome I get Many thanks
  7. Hello, been a while since I posted here as been sorting my debts out and moving home I wanted some help with my Barclays Overdraft my limit is £1000 My current balance is £980 and I get about £14.80 interest on it a month, I have been paying £15.00 a month back for a few months just so I didn’t get over my limit but to be honest this is just kinda pointless as im getting no where and im currently out of work and cant afford to pay more then £15 a month back. I rang Barclays a month ago and I got told that my account would get closed and it would get moved to a debt recovery company Just to note ive had Barclays bank account all my life since school so it’s the only card really ive had the longest, but I guess that means bugger all to the people at Barclays What’s the best way to sort this?
  8. Hi Thank you for your help Will send letter tomorrow morning as to be honest I think the money would be more useful to share out between other debts Yep im prepared to do what the letter says, Just for info I did prepare to take them to court in the first place as was refusing to pay me any money back what so ever after writing them a letter saying I would take them to court to get the money back they did send another letter with the amount and offset the balance so seems they want to avoid the courts at all costs so hopefully goes in my favour and does get pain into a account of my choice
  9. Hi Yes it does include interest rates With Lowells im paying a token payments of a £1 a month as they seem to accepted it when cap one didn’t after explaining to cap one numbers of times that’s all I could afford after showing them IE/OE and only having a certain amount of money a month etc To be fair I think im going to send them a letter and ask well request it gets paid into my account and see what the outcome is I just think the money could be more use to me i.e. paying other debts then offsetting the balance which is kinda high anyhow so knocking that amount off isn’t really going to make much differences at all just going to have to think of how to word it into a letter
  10. Ah gutted, just would have been nice but nevermind 2nd part does sound right but not 100% sure as I know I did get letters from both Guess ill have to get folder out in a min and have a check Thanks for the replies guys
  11. Not really sure to be honest. I don’t deal with cap one now, been dealing with Lowell debt collectors
  12. Sorry ims21 didn’t see your reply might have been wiring a reply while you replied Well as my post above says Lowell debt collections now owe the debt due to Cap one sending it to them Just be handy to be honest to share the money out to other debts which would help me a lot hence why I thought ill ask if its possible
  13. Many Thanks for the reply, I understand what your saying Just would have been nice to get the money into a current account of my choice instead of taking it off my capital one balance as it would help me pay off another debt/debts and means I have more money to share between other debts to get them paid off quicker my debt is also with Lowell debt collectors after cap one moved it to them Just thought I would ask and make sure
  14. Well got a letter from capital one offering the amount back minus £30 which to be fair sounds quite decent and I will accept but have a question in the letter it says it will be taken off my current balance with my debt with capital one signed and returned the signed paperwork well my question was can I ask this money to be paid into a bank account of my choice instead taking it off my balance as like I say it would help me pay off some other debts and would be 1 less debt to deal with
  15. Hello thank you for the reply Yes 40 days have elapsed Yes was sent recorded Yes I sent a follow up letter heard NOTHING (all sent recorded postage) So I report them to ICO? but to the CCA question the answer is NO What’s a CCA? Also what do I do about the debt collection company (Lewis debt recovery), does that mean my account is now in dispute and I don’t have to pay them a penny etc until I receive my information back? As like I say I sent Santander all them letters(IE/OE) and SAR request and its way over 40 days and nothing from a follow up letter so seems kinda silly it was moved over to debt collection (Lewis debt recovery) Do I also need to send an CCA request?
  16. Well cutting a long short story, Was a GE money Credit card, but got took over my Santander. Any letters I send never seems to get any reply and seem to ignore every single one and im going to be very annoyed IF AND WHEN I do get my SAR request they have received every single one and just not bothered to sent me any replies. Just seems to be impossible to get any response from them what so ever 1) sent number of letters to Santander asking to accept £1 token with all my IE/OE etc but heard nothing back 2) 2) sent the same letter again 2) sent the same letter again this time (recorded postage) 3) sent a SAR request end of Feb as you can see the 40 days has way passed (recorded postage) 4) sent a reminder letter to them also (recorded postage) 5) sent a letter to the registered office of Santander and Complaints dept as this is beyond a joke to be honest. Ive made every effort to sort this and just seem to get ignored from them So I got a letter last Thursday saying that the debt is now with a debt collection company and wanted the payment before Friday which funny enough was a bank holiday and no post so that’s a basically didn’t happy and im not speaking to any of these on the phone as I want to do it all VIA letter and earliest post would be tomorrow Silly thing is I have an old Santander loan which gets every letter replied to but come to the credit card just seems to be silly and I get nothing so im at a loss Anyhow as Santander didn’t reply to my IE/OE letters or SAR and the 40 days it way over due and it was signed for etc. then that means the account is now in dispute correct? So what can I do now? I thought about writing to the debt collection company and trying to think of some simple letter to write explaining that ive not avoided the debt and ive made effort to deal with it and sent Santander letters etc and explain that the account is now in dispute due to not replying to the SAR request Im not sure if that’s the right thing to do though, but I sure I read somewhere that the account goes into dispute and I don’t have to do anything until I get the SAR request back is that true? any help would be great as I would like to sort this ASAP as Santander are doing my head in.
  17. Sorry for the late reply, not sure why I didn’t get an alert that you posted Yes I did send payment for the SAR (postal order as from reading that’s the post way to do it ) Letter was also sent recorded signed for Well now ive got another problem as I explained in my earlier posts ive sent letters and letters and SAR and still heard nothing..we must be 50 days in now after the SAR have passed now my account have been moved over to debt collection and need full payment by the 22nd which I don’t have So kinda need advice…. Seems Santander is getting my letters and just not replying which don’t help As I understand if in breach of not sending the SAR I don’t have to make any payments at all and this debt collection cant follow up on it until SAR is sent to me? I have records of what letter ive sent to Santander and tracking notes so its not like im ignoring them ive done everything I can to contact them on the address which is on they letters but they seems to be ignoring me. not sure if this needs a new thread or be okay in this one but as It was due to the fact Santander are not replying to any letters thought it be best to post here
  18. So I now just wait 14 days for them to comply if nothing then I just file a court claim? How would I go about dong a court claim sorry never done it before? Many Thanks
  19. Thank you so much for some reason I didn’t get an email alert to say someone posted a reply, Well my letter was about my Paypal credit card which Satandar took over, I have sent income/outcome letters to the address stated on the Satandar Credit card website but I seem to get no reply letter after letter I have either sent them recorded I also sent an SAR request to them to the same address but heard nothing back which was also sent recorded postage As I understand SAR request they have 40 days which to reply to it. Well on the 12th of this month those 40 days will be up. I don’t want to resend the SAR as that would be another £10 requesting it unless I really have to hopefully they forwarded it to the right department I seem to send letters to the address on the Satandar Credit card website over and over but get no reply Would It be best to send a letter to registered office stating im waiting for my SAR request to come back Many Thanks
  20. Ok Thank you, will send letter out first thing in the morning
  21. Thank you for your letter dated *** March regarding £12 default sums added to your account I have reviewed your account and considered the merits of your complaint the office of fair trading OFT has no challenged the right of banks to charge default sums, just the level of those default sums Following the publication of the OFT report capital one in line with other banks reduced the level of default sums charged to £12 each week in September 2006 I can see the default sums have been added correct to your account as a result of the way you have managed your account capital one believes these charges are fair and lawful and as a result no refund is due
  22. Hello I got a letter back from cap one saying no to refunding the fees. What can I do for the next step?
  23. Hello I had a paypal credit card which was owned by GE money but Santander took over them but im having problems with them getting my letters. Ive sent letters to the address which is stated on the Santander Credit card contact page website do they have a different address I can use by any chance?
  24. Thanks for link I did read and still a little confused I only add the 8% on if it goes to country court? So I just add all the fees up and send them a letter requesting it back?
