  1. Hi there, in february 2010 I took out a 24 month contract on a blackberry 8520 on orange at phones4u. In late July 2010 the phone began freezing when receiving calls and I had to to a battery pull to fix the problem. In early august I took my phone into the shop, explained the fault and the girl who served me (the same girl who originally sold me the contact) was very helpful and sent my phone away to be repaired as it was an obvious software fault on a phone that was still under warantee. I was told the repair would take around 14 days. 14 days came and went and it eventually turned into 8 weeks before I received a new handset...which did not work! The phone was sent back and within around 14 days I received a new handset which was in working order. I have now had this handset for around 3 months, and similar problems to the ones I had with my original handset are beginning to occur; freezing of the phone which require a battery pull but this time when the phone is turned back on after the battery pull it then has to be reset according to the phone and the whole process ends up taking around 15 minutes which is useless when I need to use my phone! I have yet to inform phones4u of this fault as I imagine they will just send the phone off for repair as it is an obvious software fault and still under warantee, however after the hassle I had with the repairs process last time I dont want to do this, I simply want rid of the blackberry altogether as I have had such a bad experience with them. I am fully aware that it is phones4u's policy to repair broken phones and that I would not be entitled to cancel my contract, but surely in this special circumstance there must be some way around it? I am simply not willing to be be another 10 weeks without a phone that I am paying extra for to have the use of blackberry internet etc which does not work in the temporary phone. Please let me know if anyone knows of anyway I can get out of this contract, thanks.
