Hi justthought i'd let you know they don't always delay, i sent a Data Protection Act on 26/06 and had a letter with list of itemised charges last week (26/7). ot defending them just wanted to give others hope that they do sometimes comply. Do you think it's becuase my account is an Abbey credit card (MBNA run it) rather than an actual Abbey bank a/c? They've credited £100 as a 'gesture of good faith', now i'm going to send a prelim asking for the rest! Good luck Leisl

Hi all had a 'goodwill' refund of £100 today plus the £10 Data Protection Act fee credited to account. List of charges attahced show goodwill =10% of claim!! Initial approach letter will follow.

Hi i'm trying to file a moneyclaim vs nationwide and am using the guidenotes, but how do i attach my speradsheet to show calculations? or can i just state total charges plus interest? Thanks
-
Hi just an update, have had two standard letters, no action suggest you look elsewhere (account is already closed!), and a please give us 8 weeks to investigate which arrived today just as i'm due to file my Moneyclaim!. Was wondering if this is a stalling tactic but can see from other posts that it is so am proceeding with claim (now £3366.13 with interest). Can anyone tell me how you get the neat little update bits at the bottom of your posts? Also is there a quick way to navigate to your own posts to update? Thanks for all the support so far.

Hi Sam You seem to be on the same timetable as me. My 14 days notice to them is up today and i also got a 'give us 8 weeks before you go to the financial ombudsman' standard letter. Glad to see you also wondered if it's a stalling tactic. Will file claim now! See you in the courts!!!!!

Hi first of all don't panic. Take your time to read around the forums until you're clear what you need to do. Do note the do's and don'ts and pay attention to the other posts in the Abbey forum. Only start to send your DPA enquiry or initial approach when you're feeling happier with the whole process. It took me about 2 weeks to read enough! I've now got 4 claims on the go, three pending DPA replies and one small claim due any day. Good Luck:)

Hi i've had the same thing this year, extra money because of maternity leave. The only thing i would say is remember that this years credit is based on last years P60 so if you expect to earn lots more check the notification threshold they state on your tax credit notice. Otherwise spend, spend spend!!!!

Hi all Had all statements so went straight for initial claim, had reply from Member Account Servicing with same standard reply suggesting may want to move my account etc.. shows how well they check, account was closed last month!! However me and the kids have 7 other accounts CTF's etc so we'll see. Am going to send LBA monday 10/7 so watch this space and thanks for all the useful advice so far.

HI everyone i'm so glad i found your group through the money expert. I'm trying to claim money back from 4 banks, have sent initial requests for charges/statements to Barclays, Abbey credit card and Capital one credit card. Have also issued request for refund to Nationwide. They replied today saying 'you were aware of our charges so we won't pay up' (to cut a long letter short!) so i'm back to check where to go now. Have taken heart from all your stories, keep up the good work.
