  1. Hi plodder, To answer your questions: No they didn't visited in August - the advisor at equita advised. The address they have on file is no longer mine. Just the usual overdue payments and someone will visit. Since move nothing obviously. Payments via card they confirmed received today and reflects on digital bank statements. No goods have been seized and no bailiff has gained access - I havent even met one face to face. The advisor advised today that when the bailiff visited no one is in. The roughly 230 extra in balance he advised is down to charges. He said he has no access to what the charges are however! Thanks! Alex
  2. Hi, First of all thanks for the help. I currently have an account sitting with equita in regards to a Birmingham city council tax debt. This was handed over to equita in feb 2014. Equita do not have my correct address on file fortunately. I am now however in the position to pay this off in one payment today! In feb I was advised I had a balance of £973.85 outstanding. To this effect I set up payment plans (these were totally out of my reach but equita are v good with the pressure!) and made 2 payments. March 2014: £161.50 November 2014: £300 Maths here tells me on the original balance this leaves an amount of £512.35. Today I contacted Equita to arrange today's pAyment and they advised I was required to pay the amount of £748.85. This is an increase on my balance of £236.50! They state this is charges on the account. When I asked for a breakdown the colleague stated they do not have access to a breakdown and to quote "do not know" - I asked them to email these details they stated they cannot do this. The only option they provided me was to write and wait for a return letter - they do not have my current address and I would prefer to keep it this way! My question: 1. What do I pay? Do I just pay these charges and the 748.85 demanded to get them out my way or do I only pay 512.35 and consider the debt paid? I want this cleared tomorrow I am happy to have it off my back but do I continue with the payment with these charges or resolve the charges first? I just want it done with at this point. Maybe these are realistic charges in regards to a bailiff I can't say and that's what I'm here for to find some clarity! Thanks everyone!!! A
  3. and neither of these should be bothered by my bad credit, missed payments or low credit score. i presume just a deposit situation ?
  4. thanks guys appreciate the help. i wont be missing payments everything is accounted for im looking at this at a step to rebuilding credit not making it any worse though i dont think it cud get any worse. so it seems sky dont care and BT with a deposit should be fine. anyone any thoughts or opinions on virgin media or would this also be a simple case of a deposit too. long shot but anyone have an idea of the region im looking at for a deposit for BT. seems i will be well on the way to internet, tv and phone line soon. helps appreciated put my mind at rest a bit.
  5. hi so i've posted a similar thread to this previously but here goes just looking for some upto date information in anticipation of moving in november (18th to be exact). if i explain the backstory and you can understand the situation. having been a student and 18 and stupid can i add i took out multiple credit cards and got myself into one hell of a mess. i have now ended up with 8 defaults showing on my credit record with 4 of these being settled and payment plans arranged to settle the other 4 within the next 24 months. equifax are showing my credit score of 219 am i correct in believing this is severely bad??? unusually 4 months ago i managed to take out a new mobile phone contract for 30pounds a month anyways i will be moving in with my now partner in january via either private landlord or estate agents (with the obvious help of a guarentor for the address should we choose to go the estate agency route). we will be looking to get telephone line, internet and tv packages. this can be with anyone such as Sky, Virgin, BT or the post office does anyone know if i am going to run into any difficulties when applying for these products. my partner is obviously aware of my credit rating but i would rather not subject her to the difficulties that i have now been facing for many years. any advice or recent experience of such a situation. i just want this to go smoothly i wanna know what to expect but i would also like these accounts in my name a chance to start showing bills and payments on time and in my name. i've only got myself to blame for the situation i am currently in and i dont expect anyone else to feel the consequences least of all her. also with the defaults currently showing on my account will these stay on file 6yrs from when the default was attached to my account or 6 yrs from when the account is settled?? thanks. sincerly blindside
  6. having recently graduated i am in a considerable amount of debt with numerous defaults. these are currently being handled by 5 to 6 different debt collection agencies. with payment plans set up with them all i am now moving in with the girlfriend. will it be possible for me to take out a tv, broadband and telephone line with either sky or virgin or will there credit check stop me. she has her heart set on movie channels etc i dont want to let her down but i dont know what i can do. does anyone have experience of this? maybe they accept deposits. anyways thankyou for the help in advance im a newbie here. cheers
  7. o ok its just a been with cccs for almost a year and half until dropping it 2 months ago to be honest i thought i was way down the line. it was more the way when i called they said 'well go get legal advice' and hung up
  8. also should they take it to court i understand it typically takes 3 months for a verdict could i pay it off before the court takes place or once court action has implemented is there no way back? thanks
  9. the letter was actully from hl legal and collections (collect direct however contacted me again today) when i called them they said go get legal advice and hung up on me. the letter states the following :- dear mr ..... we act on behalf of collect direct (uk) agents for the above creditor (egg). unless our client receives payment within seven days from the date of this letter, we will have no alternative but to recommend to our client that we proceed with legal action within the appropriate jurisdiction. should litigation become necessary a claim for associated costs and interest will also be made. we trust this course of action can be avoided and request that you contact our client directly to make arrangements to pay; our clients contact details can be found below: collect direct etc after this letter was received the above arrangement out of my expenditure was made which obviously has now defaulted. then today i received from collect direct the following letter :- payment arrangement revoked you have defaulted on the concessionary payment arrangement, and have failed to give reason why, therefore this facility has had to be revoked. as a result we require you to contact us urgently so that we may discuss an alternative arrangement and get your account back on track. should we fail to hear from you within 5 days from the above date, we may have no alternative than to recommend to our client that legal action is taken against you. why is it it has gone back to collect direct and why is that first letter so much more intimidating surely the second one would be more relevent now? thanks agin for all the help
  10. hi i recently started to clear my debt after leaving the CCCS due to the length of time it would take. my original outstanding was HSBC - 1448pounds Albion Collections Ltd - 1401.33pounds Royal Bank Of Scotland - 1243 pounds Collect Direct - 674pounds Regal Credit Consultants - 174pounds NCO Europe - 194.94pounds HSBC Mastercard - 521pounds remaining HSBC - 1900 Albion - 900 Collect Direct - 484 Regal - 120 while regal have agreed 40 pounds a month i seem to be struggling with collect direct and they are now saying they are preparing to take me to court. i am currently a full time student so my funds are restricted how in april i graduate and begin a full time position. there only offer was originally jan - 100 (this has been paid and reflected in above amount) feb - 284 mar - 200 i have however now defaulted on this as this is way above my budget. has anyone got advice? will they really take me to court over such a small amount? my best offer to them wud be to pay the 84 over this month and march with a guarenteed payment of 400 on 29th april i even have proof of the incoming income. any suggestions. i was going to offer to send a check dated for the 29th would they accept this do you think?
  11. Hi i'm new to this forum so please be gentle and sorry if i ask the same questions that have been asked one hundred times before. First my circumstances - When i was 18 and credit cards were being thrown on the table i was stupid enough to take them and overdrafts and dug myself into a rather large hole. This was now 6 years ago. roughly a year and a half ago i found CCCS who have been nothing short of great in my debt management plan to getting this cleared considering at the time of writing i am a student and therefore on a very low income. My Debt - HSBC - 1448pounds Albion Collections Ltd - 1401.33pounds Royal Bank Of Scotland - 1243 pounds Collect Direct - 674pounds Regal Credit Consultants - 174pounds NCO Europe - 194.94pounds HSBC Mastercard - 521pounds Total Debt - 4552.33 As far as my records are concerned the amount above is true of my RBS account. However today i received possibly the brightest debt recovery card slip from allied international stating i owe 888.27 could anyone explain this at all. Also judging from the over the top nature of the postcard/slip/letter i have a feeling these could be troublesome. Has anyone any experience with dealing with these? As great as the CCCS DMP is its quite a slow process now what i was wondering is, is there anyway to reduce the overall owed amount to each debtor as i have read into full and final payments? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the extremely lengthy post, i am quite young and have been dealing with this since the age of 19 and so far have only had CCCS to turn to its nice to find a forum where people are supporting each other with past experiences and current circumstances, i like probably many of you have lost too much sleep over letters, calls and everything else that comes along with it. thankyou
