  1. That is so true!! Also adds a touch of light-heartedness to what seems a neverending maze of banks using delay tactics. I can't believe we have to take such drastic action! When will they learn...
  2. Thanks for your replies, it helps to know someone's on your side! I'm a little fuzzy over how you work out any interest (I don't mean the 8% added when you file a case), it mentions it on the Prelim and LBA letters. Is there somewhere on the site that I can look up that explains this a bit more clearly? I'm not asking someone to do any searching for me, just wondering if someone can put it into layman's terms Thanks
  3. After reading LOADS on this website I am absolutely fuming with HSBC and the amount they charge customers. I get so worried about them but at least I know now that I'm not alone. I have drafted, signed and sent my DPA to my local Branch Manager, £10 inc. I've also sent the same to Lloyds but that's only a small amount so I'm not going to persue both right now, I don't know what can of worms I'm opening!! Pretty scared about it though, taking on the huge banks as a little person daunts me. I'm worried about getting agressive letters saying 'It's your fault, give us our overdraft money!' I'll post updates and let you know if I've gotten something I don't understand! Thanks for this site, it's a god send.
  4. I hadn't thought of that!! Without knowing exact figures for 5 years (when the a/c was opened) it might do. Thanks!
  5. Hi, I've not long registered and have read a huge amount of info! I've drafted my letter for DPA info but a couple of things are holding me back from going through with this and I'd like to know if you all can help me I hold a joint account, with my dad, because at the time it was the onyl way I could get one. He has multiple accounts with HSBC and has been with them for about 30 years. The account has always been resonably well managed but not perfectly and over the past couple of years has had quite alot of charges added to it. I now have an overdraft which is above my agreed limit so am gettign charged the earth and because I'm not working at the moment, am finding it difficult to pay any money off the account because it's all going on the charges. Anyway, firstly, I've heard about them closing accounts down. Would they just close the account that we're going to dispute or all my dad's? Secondly, would they demand the whole of the current overdraft if they did close the account? I can't pay it in one go because I'm not working and my hubby went bankrupt last year. I'm sorry for going on a bit but your help would be very appreciated. Thanks xx
