Elephant car insurance
Dan The Ram replied to Dan The Ram's topic in Insurance/Assurance Companies (Not Car Insurance)
Thanks Uncle Bulgaria! still riles me now after a few days - for info they are "reviewing" the extra charge at present as I have told them I will not be renewing with them. -
Elephant car insurance
Dan The Ram replied to Dan The Ram's topic in Insurance/Assurance Companies (Not Car Insurance)
Dear all My wife has her car insurance with them and the renewal came through last week at £550. I looked on a comparison site and found them quoting at £430! so I called and they said they would price match - surprise surprise! They asked if she had any accidents - nothing. I am a named driver but have my own car and own insurance - April 08 someone hit me and claimed via their policy as it was their fault. All sorted - a non fault bump settled no fuss. Anyway, guy at Elephant now says my wifes premium will go up by £50??!! WHAT! nothing to do with her or Elephant, and the calim was a non fault, that was all settled in my favour! Worse still was a letter this morning saying they want £154.42 additional premium for last yera as I didnt tell them about this "non fault" accident!! How on earth can this be fair?? does every insurance company work like this?? and how can it be £154 last yera and £50 this?? They just seem to make figures up as they go.................... HELP -
Cancelled direct debit then restarted it
Dan The Ram replied to BigTerry's topic in Welcome to the Consumer Forums
Would agree re above. Having worked in a bank years ago, I know that Standing Orders are set up by the account holder and so you keep a degree of flexibility. Direct Debits are you giving the supplier permission to debit your account. This arrangement can be cancelled with the supplier or the bank, but I feel once cancelled you would need to re instate via the supplier, hence revealing your "good fortune"...............
