  1. can we oppose the account being closed? Is it in our favour to have it closed? or will it do our credit rating good to close it?
  2. Hello everyone, I wanted to update my thread and to ask for some futher advice if I may! Well the time has come to pay the last installment of this wretched account, after paying back over £3,500 majority if which is bank charges we have £123 left to pay. This wil be cleared at end of Jan. However we have been told that this account will close once we have cleared the overdraft- can they do this? we dont want to lose the account? any help on this would be apprecaiated. On another matter of the charges, am I right in thinking that once we submit a SAR that we can attempt to claim back the charges that they have slapped on this account over the years? I look forward to hearing from anyone! kind regards
  3. we didnt get a statement despite asking for it, all we got was a letter stating that we should continue to make payments as before! checky barstweards!
  4. my payment has left my account and at the time of checking it had not arrived. I will check tomorrow.
  5. update - I went into the branch and the lady who served me didnt have a clue, tried to tell me that their systems had been updated and as such was unable to access the account. She told me tha the account had been sold to another debt collection agency and could not help me! I soon told her that it hadnt and that BLS were in house team. We eventually got through to BLS who gave me the ususal 'increase payments, settle acct ' crap. what was more interesting was that I was told that as the account had been passed to collections once the overdraft is paid they are closing the account and end of story - are they allowed to do that?
  6. ok, will take your advice. I will go into branch though and request an up to date balance as our payment from today normally clears immediately
  7. hmmm makes me feel very uneasy...... i just dont like this at all because I cannot see the sense of it?
  8. ok, thanks, but the account is with halifax (which i know is part of the same group...) the worry is that we moved our account to LTSb two years ago because of the halifax...... I am sure you can see where this is going. any advice? am now bricking it?
  9. ok, have checked back and the account is going to be administered by BLS Collections? anyone heard about them?
  10. the funds come straight from our account so i will have it on our bank statement. I am not being screwed over again. would BOS sell a debt for less than we ow, even though we have been paying good as gold?
  11. why would Halifax / BOS transfer with such a low balance? we have been paying it off on time for 2 1/2 years - surely if they sold the debt they would have done so at a loss? what point / sense is there in tha? I just dont understand it? I have another payment leaving my acount tomorrow by SO - do I stop it?
  12. many thansk Cit B for your input. I too am surprised at this response from Halifax / BOS and can state that once we make our monthly payment tomorrow we owe no more than £380.14, we pay £135 per month, so cannot understand what is happening. Should we just pay the money direct to Halifax? can I get a statement from the Halifax tomorrow if I go into the branch?
  13. no, we have not had statements, we check online regulalry and have it worked out to a tee when the last payment is. We do not want to stop making payments as we want to clear it off we are on the final straight, and feel like we have been hit by a swerve ball...........
  14. I am in the office at the moment, and cant remember (that will be my age) but I am frightfully annoyed with the whole thing. can I pay the Halifax direct, I am certainly not paying another DCA when i know that we have not had the correct notifications / letters etc .......
  15. as there are only approx 3 payments left to make - is there a harm in us paying direct to the Bank? When BOS wrote to us they did tell us who was taking the account over and to carry on making payments to BOS until told otherwise. Surely if it was being sold on, there would have been a notice of assignment from the original creditor? and a letter telling us that the account was being closed or was no longer available for us to look at? any help on this would be sooo appreciated.
  16. hello All Help needed please, we received a letter from BOS stating that they were transferring our account to another company and not to do anything as this will not affect us. Up until now we have been able to monitor our account by using Halifax online banking, this way we can see the payments that we have been making go into our account. My wife checked the account about a week ago as she normallyd does to make sure that the monthly payment from August went into the account, and guess what - it has disappeared from our online banking account? so how are we supposed to see anything now? any help on this would be gateful, we have not had notiication from the Halifax that the account has been closed, nor have we been informed that we cannot have access to it online? What is more concerning is that we probably only owe something in the region of approx £400 from £3.5k andBOS have pulled a stunt like this? Any help or assistance on this would be grateful. I do have the intention of going into the bank tomorrow to ask for a balance and a statement of account for the last 12 months? all help would be gratefully appreciated and received. KR Dudley
  17. I agree with you about the telephone charges but I didnt know what they were until the bill landed and by that time it was too late. But I fully take on board your comments. Regards Dudley
  18. Good morning Cag folk, as I have not been logged on for a little time, I wanted to update that I attempted to get this ticket quashed but with no avail. In the end we paid the ticket. A lesson to learn was take more care when parking. I will ask the Site Team to move to resolved. I wanted to add what an excellent area of support and help this forum is, keep going. With kind regards Dudley
  19. uaruman Many thanks for your detailed post, which I have read with interest and have taken note. I also read your comment regarding CCCS, at the moment I am not inclined to go down this route as over 10 years ago we were were concerned about a change in circumstance (I was working at Rover) and although we were not in difficulty at the time we thought that things MAY become a little tight so took advice from CCCS, now whilst in the main they do offer a very good service, the advice we were given took us down a path of huge consequence and almost cost us our home. So I think for now we will continue our standing order with BOS. With Kind regards Dudley
  20. well when I called BOS recently to make a payment I was on the phone for 16 mins and the cost of the call was £7.60! can I claim that back then?
