  1. Again, they're desperately trying to cover themselves as they know they've messed up with this.
  2. loss of a bargain is indeed the route I would go down. Scarlet pimpernel, thank you, that is of great help.
  3. they stil agreed to the contract by taking the money in the first place. they're now in breach of that contract. I'm gonna mail them tonight telling them so & telling them if I do not receive a response I will be taking them to court.
  4. I've also ordered products from this site at low prices, I honestly did not believe it was an error, due to them stating the "ridiculously low prices" they sell at & showing me examples of the same products being bought at similar low prices on every page. I thought it was simply a promotional stunt. I have sent them an email rejecting their cancellation of what is a definitely a contract as they took the money as the clause does not cover this. The fact it took them 4 days to cancel proves this, were it covered they'd have emailed back within a day, they've clearly scrambled round trying to find something to cover themselves. I have told them I expect to have the goods ordered within the agreed timescale (14 days as per their confirmation email) or I will be seeking 'loss of a bargain'. Technically they have 30 days under distance selling law so upon 14 days I will contact them to explain I will take them to court on the 30th day under distance selling regulation.
  5. Abbey have constantly been charging now for months, on each occasion I've been over my overdraft so I've just grimaced & borne it, thinking I'll await the decision of the test case & then put in for them at that point. Now they've just charged me however, cos when I was in credit by £1.41 on the 29th July, they took 'interest & charges' of £13.17, now I'm always paid the last working day of the month, so this I'm being charged for. This seems wrong, seeing as it's blatantly obvious when I'm paid, (funny how they never take money on the 1st of the month, eh?) but isnt the basis of my annoyance. My statement reads: Interest & charges incurred this period Date 7th Aug Unauthorised..(etc etc) this will be deducted on 29th Aug I rang up & was told it was for the event above on the 29th July. Can they still take the charge even though they're telling me it's for something on the 7th August, when it clearly isnt?
  6. I bow to your greater knowledge, but it's a brand new re-wire, only 12 months old. Surely that'd be unlikely?!
  7. It is indeed the exact same fault. What part of the sale of goods acts 1979 does it fall under? Just had a look at the act online & it's lengthy! Thanks again.
  8. I bought an LCD telly last November, from Time computers. It worked fine for three months or so, then started getting developing a fault where it wouldn't switch on from standby occasionally unless you switched it off & back on at the wall. I'd taken a stupidly cheap 3 year warranty out, so sent it off & got it back 15 days later, 5 days longer than their warranty guarantee said. Worked fine for six months, then it's back again. I bought it on 12 months interest free, & was planning on paying it off next month, but now I want a different telly cos my confidence is knocked in this one. Where do I stand on getting a refund (even though technically I've not paid), cos I've had it so long? Thanks in advance.

  10. I'm just starting now, & this has made me all the more determined! Thanks for the inspiration, & well done!
