hi to all, Where do i start, i had a mortgage back in 1999 with abbey, consequently i requested they accepted my offer for voluntary repossession, they declined and told me to sell the property. i was moving to USA. i then set about finding a tennant and letting the property in dec 1999. only two months after that, the tennant did a runner on me and they repossessed anyway. by this time i was in america, unable to sort it out properly. i subsequently returned back to uk in june 2004. a county court judgement was made against me in 2007 and an attachment of earnings was set up for £5.00 a week ( total shortfall 10,000 Approx ), i left royal mail in sept 2009, and no more was said about it. until, now, i recently managed to find a new job, had forgotten about the abbey altogether. yesterday received a CCJ from the local County court again demanding an attachment of earnings order. it nigs me to the core that initially abbey repossessed and sold the property for a lot less than it was worth, if it had been sold correctly the whole mortgage would have been cleared back then. my family are trying and struggling to exist on the low income we receive, and now i am faced with this again. Please help advise me on what i can do if anything.
