  1. Hi thanks for the reply. Only the Capital one is in default, and the date is down as july 2009. I have had muliple arguments with Capital one about this as it should have been defauled in 2004 (comaplint currently with the ICO) The halifax one is not in default, but is marked as late payments right up until it was settled. Bare in mind i was not late paying, i was in an arrangement and paid everything on time, for the last 6 years. I can happily keep the credit card open, it has no balance. As for Barclaycard settled, and VW settled, is it better for them to be on there then?
  2. I forgot to state that the last two accounts were settled in December 2010
  3. Hi everyone, I have finished a DMP recently, and i know the damage to my file has already been done, I am just seeing if there is anything possible to help my score improve. It's currently at 520 which is in the very poor category. What is currently on my file: A fully paid, settled, VW finance agreement (lease car) ending in 2010 - all green and paid up a credit card with 0 balance and no issues, all green (i use this for emergencies but can close it if necessary) My contract mobile, all green up to date my bank account, no overdraft, all green a barclaycard account, all green , full settled (This was part of my DMP but they were kind enough not to blemish my record) a defaulted capital one account, which has been partially settled and balance set to 0 a halifax loan which is marked as being 6 payments late, but not defauled, this is partially settled with balance at 0 Would removing any of the all green fully paid ones help? The accuracy of the 2 nasty ones is technically correct, although now partially settled, is there anything i can do to remove? I went through a long process of verifying what they had is right, and it is. Is there any leverage if i now offer to change from partially settled to settle and pay the difference? Any advice is more than welcome thanks so much
  4. Hi Tingy, I'm not surprised that they haven't responded. I feel a bit worried about placing the account in dispute, what if they were to start doing door stop visits or something as i'm not paying ?? Would it be another idea to disregard th balance they have quoted, and offer a short settlement on the balance that i do acknowledge from them ? lance
  5. righto - gotcha. So, say it gets to Monday and beyond, do I have any rights here or can they simply ignore me? The balance is definitely in dispute by myself
  6. No problem I just checked my receipt it went on 22/11 and using the track number it was signed for on 23/11 . With the 12 days i guess we don't count weekends right?
  7. Sorry for the confusion, what i was due to post their was the kind letter you helped with and/or a SAR. The actually bog standard CCA request i found was on the 23rd
  8. Hiya, me again My CCA to Llloyds has gone unanswered, recorded delivery shows it was signed for on the 23rd of November - any advise what i do now? I have sent a SAR request off too but only a couple of days ago, i understand this takes 40 days Many thanks
  9. Hi Ford, Sorry for the delay in the response. This is now my top priority - shall i send the CCA to Halifax or to Blair Oliver Scott (or both)? I have recently requested settlement for 40% of the balance but the DCA replied with a basic 'No' Many thanks
  10. Got it Tingy thanks! Just one question, this is to go to both BLS and to Lloyds right? I'll post tomorrow..... 8-)
  11. Hi Tingy, The original debt was a large overdraft - agreed. After it was setup and at its largest, the arrangement was setup via a DMP . The debt was passed to BLS Collections afterward, i didn't sign anything from them... but I believe it was when it went to BLS that the balance balooned
  12. Hi Tingy THanks for the reply. I've already sent the CCA off to them, should i wait for a reply or just send a SAR now too do you think? Many thanks
  13. Hi all, after doing some more reading up i think my first point of call is a CCA request from Lloyds, I have put one together and will post it tomorrow
  14. Hiya, i'm in a payment arrangement with Lloyds TSB, which has been passed onto their collections agency BLS Collections a few years ago. When the arrangement started as part of a DMP, the debt i owed was £2700. I have been paying steadily and the debt should be now around £900 so i was looking to settle. After writing to them to request a balance, they are stating the balance is a staggering £3400 which is more than it was to begin with! I have been in an arrangement for 6 years I was amazed when i saw the figure! Can anyone give me a good starting point on this to help me get it to the figure it should be ?? I have written to them twice asking them to remove late charges and interest as I have been in an arrangement and paying on time every time but they have so far ignored both letters any advice is most welcome thank you all
  15. ah i see, so essentially i barter for a settlement figure lower than the outstanding balance but agree in writing that it is a full and final settlement as far as my credit file goes ?? As for PPI no - unfair charges - possibly. I've requested some documentation regarding this from them
  16. Hi Ford thanks for your reply I have recently sent a letter to see if all their documentation is in order and valid. As this already has red marks on my credit file - would a final settlement figure on the full balance work better for me than a partial settlement on something less? Thanks again
  17. Hi all, I have been in an arrangement to pay with Halifax on a loan for about 6 years, the balance is now at 3450, could anyone suggest what is a good starting point to try and get partial settlement on this ? how much should i decrease the figure by to be deemed reasonable do you think ? Thanks so much lancer
  18. Hi all, Just thought i'd post an update, i got a reply from Halifaxs' DCA and they have admitted the 6 late payments is incorrect. They are in the process of changing this to a default from 04/2007 when the account was passed to them . As i plan on settling the account this year, at least i have shaved 3 years off the 6 total that this will be held with the CRA's Regards
  19. Hi dx, thanks for the reply, i asked the cra directly and this was the response i got: Halifax (Account started 22/05/03): The status history of an account shows how you made payments in relation to your original repayment contract. Late or reduced payments may still be shown in the status history of an account even if you made an arrangement with the lender to do so. I'm not sure exactly what that means but i'm certainly not 6 payments late with my repayment plan, surely this should either have shown as defaulted back in 2003/2004 or as 'up to date'? What do you think ? Even though i have been paying them for 6 years I will always have another 6 years to look forward to once I have repaid it all off
  20. Hello all, I have a Halifax loan that i enterered into an arranagement to pay some years ago. My experian file shows a continuous monthly history of being '6 payments late' although I am in an arrangement and have not missed a payment since. Whilst i appreciate that they have probably marked me as 6 payments late during the setup of the arrangement, it has not shown as defaulted and will therefore remain on my file indefinately (according to experian) unless it is settled (and then take a FURTHER 6 years from this date) I have another agreement with barclaycard which is showing as payments upto date and I am in an arrangement with them too - which is correct? I have written to Halifax to ask for further information twice and I have been ignored. Can anyone advise me? Thank you
  21. Hi there i may have posted this in the wrong section sorry. Can anyone help
  22. Hi all, My first post here. I've been in a DMP for about 5 years or so, I recently decided to check out my credit report from experian. Halifax is show as '6 payments late' for as far back as i can see, however other creditors in my plan are showing as 'special arrangement to pay' and are in green, which of the two is correct and is there anything i can suggest to Halifax about what they keep updating experian with? Thank you so much
