  1. Well, I thought I'd update this thread with what "went down": It went to Welcome's complaints team and almost went "legal". A few days after I sent an ultimatum letter, I received a phone call from the Voluntary Collections team. Three days later, the car was picked up.
  2. Were you caught on the roads or was it a "time out" on the driveway (ie not taxed and not sorn either)? If the rozzers were involved It'll count If it was DVLA admin stuff then not so Either way, it won't prevent you from joining. Source: Friend joining Ecilop with speeding and no insurance points on licence at the time of joining.
  3. Stupid question but how to I move the thread (or would an admin do it?)
  4. Hi, I'm new to the forums. I hope you can offer some advice. I was made redundant in Sept 2009 and my car payments (which I have with Welcome finance) were taken over by the Direct Group payment protection insurance I have. The Direct group at one point said they had not received my ABI1 form and as a result I had a notice of default sums form Welcome. In front of my wife and I, the Welcome finance person who I showed a copy of the ABI1 form to said "we have a problem with Direct Group, theyre always doing this" I want to hand the car back (as I have paid the minimum amount to do this). I have spoken to someone at welcome and they say I cannot do this because of the Default. My argument is that my payments (when I was working) were spot on and I never missed once. Due to no fault of my own, I now have a car that I cannot afford to run and cannot get rid of (without letting them repo it and be landed with the extortionate outstanding balance they will leave me with) Any advice on what I can do?
