  1. Sorry, It means. Halifax do not sell their debts to debt collection agents. Even if your account has been charged off (passed to a debt collection) Halifax still own the account and still have all your details on their data base, so for them to tell you they are no longer dealing with the account is incorrect because they can still deal with you and withdraw the account from debt collectors.
  2. Yes, my name and address are correct on the notice, I have lived at the address for 11months, and never received any correspondence regarding a fine. The date of conviction is 5th March 2010 at Oxford Magistrates court, transferred to West Midlands on the 7th June 2010. It may be a coincident but two weeks ago I was on the train when it hit someone on the rails, we were stuck on the train for 4 hours and all passengers were given a form to complete with our personal details so our ticket costs could be refunded. Then all of a sudden I received this notice.
  3. Charged off in Halifax terms means this. You have fallen into arrears and failed to meet your min monthly payment for 6 executive months, Once you fall in to your second month of arrears, a block is placed on your card this is called Stage 2, if you clear your arrears at this point you will return to stage 1 and the block lifted. if you pay the mim require but not the arrears, you will remain in stage 2, if you do not make payment or you pay lower than the min, your account will go to stage 3 and so on until it reaches stage 6. at this stage you have 4weeks to clear the arrears before it is "charged off" passed to a DCA, None of these debts are not sold to the DCA,
  4. Could someone advise me what i should do about this alledged fine Yesterday I received a “Notice of transfer of fine” letter from West Midlands Central Finance Unit claiming I must pay £398.10 for Travel on Railway without paying fare. Enforced from Oxford Magistrates Court. This is the first I’ve heard of this, I have never travelled without purchasing a ticket and certainly never been stopped by a ticket inspector for having an invalid ticket. The letter contains no information regarding when or where I apparently travelled without a ticket. The amount of the fine includes Comp: £13.10 Costs: £ 15.00 Costs: £105.00 Fine: £265.00 Has this happened to anyone else? I am not willing to pay this fine. Thanks
