  1. Mmmmm..Following on from my previous posts on this. After I came out of hospital I got a reply back to the appeal I sent them. They didnt use my SAE either so I assume they have someone in the office steaming the stamps off envelopes like mine for their own use:rolleyes: They allowed me another two weeks to pay but I havent. I also sent an email to McDonalds as well and they were less than helpful. Still waiting for the next letter but am going to ignore as suggested;)
  2. If there is no overpayment you have nothing to worry about ...so dont fret over it I went to a IUC last year as I didnt tell them I had an increase in tax credits. My fault, but I thought they would find out automatically via tax credits. The IUC was a horrid experience being taped etc.I walked away with paperwork telling me they could do one of three things. 1.. A caution with overpayment to be paid immediately 2.. A caution with overpayment paid plus interest 3.. They would take me to court Guess what ???? yes they took me to court. I had to wait and worry for nearly six months for this to happen. When I went to court the case was adjourned two times for this that or the other. On the 3rd time I waited from 9am until 5pm for my case to be heard.I had a good solicitor who luckily did all the talking for me. I didnt even know it ,but they had already started taking the overpayment back from my council benefit anyway .This I found out at the hearing. The judges were very understanding ( I had gone through two operations for cancer at the time of my lack of telling the council of changes ) So,in the end I had to pay the council court charges on top off what I was already paying back. £730 at £20 a month. Again,my case was much more serious than yours is ...so I stress to you..dont worry...I dont really see the need for them to treat your case this way but Councils have their own rules !!!
  3. Right then I had a reply to the email I sent them yesterday. ( I contacted them via email as well as sending the Appeal off ) This is the reply I got back.Looks like a standard reply as no mention of what I said..Trouble is Im a bit worried as Ive started the CONTACT ball rolling and fear they wont let me off the hook now Thank you for your email regarding the above Parking Charge Notice which was received on 10/06/2010. I can confirm that upon receipt of your appeal it has been logged onto our database and passed to our appeals team. Be assured, your case has been placed on hold whilst we complete our review. As such, the outstanding charge will remain at the rate payable when the appeal was received. What happens next? Once the Appeals team has reviewed the case they will confirm the outcome in writing. Should your appeal be: a) successful – the Parking Charge Notice will be cancelled and no further action will be taken. Any payment made will be refunded. b) unsuccessful – we will confirm the reason(s) why and provide you with a further 14 days to pay (at the rate payable when the appeal was received). In the meantime, you may use our Online Photo Review service to look at any photographic evidence related to your case at www.metreview.co.uk – you will need the Parking Charge Notice number and the Vehicle Registration. Should you have any questions or require further information, please call our Customer Service team on 0845 370 8004. Our team will be happy to help you Monday – Friday between the hours of 10am – 5pm. Sara Forsdyke | Assistant Customer Service Manager

  5. Just had my first notice from MET today. I immediately panicked as I am about to go into hospital for a lung cancer operation and thought I should do something ASAP. Hence I sent off the Appeal to them straight away. Since then I have spoken to a friend of mine who helped me a lot and also pointed me in the direction of this consumer action group:wink: After listening to him and reading through this thread I will not answer any other mail or calls they send my way.Just wished I had sat tight a bit longer !! Thankyou Kev for pointing me here x
