11/11/06 - Update. I received a letter back from RBOS offering me half the amount as a "Gesture of Goodwill" Yeah right! Guess I am on the right track then!! Am off to search for the next step now! Thank you for all your help so far. Kat xx

Hi there. I have this morning received a letter back replying to my initial claim for repayment saying that they regard their charges as fair and disagree with the OFT's findings. Also that they will not be refunding any of the charges applied to my account. Am unsure of what the next step should be. Another thing I am unsure of is this: In the list of bank charges I sent I included all the interest they have levied against my account on the over draft, equaling 693.82 over the six years (the charges are 2,275.00 alone). After reading all the threads, I am not sure if I should have done this. Please could someone advise? Thank you!

Well hello to everyone who is "DARING" enough to take action against their banks and the unfair charges they make against us all! It has taken me a while to get around to taking action. One reason was due to the hours that I work meaning I tend to come home and callapse, the last thing I want to be doing is looking at the pc monitor writting letters. The other reason was because I found it so hard to believe ... could this really be true? What if the bank gets nasty with me? Surely I should let the greedy lion (RBOS) sleep? Figuring that just finding out how much I had been charged over the previous 6yrs could do no harm, I sent the first letter. Three weeks later, two big hefty envelopes dropped through my door full of statements, and a small charge appeared on my current one for the cost of the re-prints. All it took was a couple of hours and I realised I had been charged just over 2k over the last 6yrs! There is allot I could do with that amount of money so am about to take the next step ... the second letter!! Wish me luck!! Darearedhead
