Hello, 16 years ago I attended ONE year of a degree, took out ONE years worth of student loan and then dropped out of university. I have NEVER contacted the SLC since. I have not repaid a penny. I understand that I am in the wrong with this. My question is that now I want to go back to University (aged 34) and to do this I will need a Student Loan. (Oh the Karma!) How should I contact them? Should I contact the debt department first and see where I stand? Should I just put in an application as if nothing has happenned? Is that a ridiculous thing to say! I still earn around 9k, am very poor, unmarried, and was always too scared to contact them. Now, if I want to get ahead in my life, I have no choice but to contact them. Any advice would be so gratefully received. Kindest regards, Bubble34
