Ebay's resolution department number is 0800 358 6551. I tried the first two numbers in this thread and got a recorded message saying 'your number has been barred from this information'! I called again on my mobile and was given 08081093229 which worked! Weird, eh? It leads you to the same call centre as the above. You have to be persistant. They will send you on more wild goose chases unless you know your consumer rights - such as in my case getting me to solve the problem by contacting the police. The police wont deal with it if it is a civil issue - ie you bought it from a private seller not a company. Consumer Direct are fantastic and give you the right advice. Their number is 08454 04 05 06
