  1. I am in the middle of moving house. I have 3 issues I find unfair to us the consumer. 1 When taking a mortgage why do I have to pay the valuation survey when the provider wants to confirm that the property exisits and is worth mortgaging, and we dont even get to see or keep this valuation report. 2 When taking out a mortgage the loan to value or selling price whichever is the lowest figure is used. Why? eg the property is £300,000, We have negotiated the price to £285,000, and asking for a mortgage of £256,500. Loan to selling price is 85%, loan to buying price is 90%. This then determines what interest raten they are willing to charge you. 3 Why do we have to pay arrangement fees for the loan. We are bringing buisness to the provider. Who will cream of about £900,000 at the end of the mortgage. This is unfair to the consumer.
  2. I dont know if this message appears on the reply thread. I am sorry to hear of your predicament. First of all they should not have taken your payment book, if they have (usually for checking your balances) then they should have returned it to you. I would suggest that you ask them to send you a full statement, failing that contact the head office (get it from their website). If that does not tally up with your records, then write to their complaints department. I hope this helps. May I suggest that do not take loans from them in the future, what you pay back is roughly 3 times what you have borrowed by the timeyou have paid off the balance.
  3. Thanks for all your support. At least my invoice has been cancelled, it saved us some money, however someone should teach these legalised thieves a lesson, may be with a taste of their own medicine. We could still report them to trading standards, if they recieve 20 or more claims from the same organisation then may be they will take action to curb their enthusiasm for dishing out invoices willy nilly. 4. Just got a letter from APNR, they have cancelled thier charges (Hooray), but I am not completely satisfied. They have said they have cancelled but still claim that my wife parked over 5 hours which is not correct. I expect them to apologise and say that the invoice was sent in error or something on those lines. I feel I should be able to take them to the small claims court and charge them for the inconvenience, and the worry they caused me and my wife. What is our position regarding this?
  5. Thanks for that, now I have to convince my wife!!!! Bander
  6. My wife has also recieved a parking contravention notice with the usual photos of entry and leaving, however my wife entered the car park twice that day. Athena ANPR "failed" to note this. Unfortunately we have written to them regarding this, but they have sent a final reminder letter demanding £90.00. I am furious that they are ignoring the real facts in this matter. My wife just wants to pay them. I am not ready to pay this. From reading the notes in these forums I believe we should not pay and stand our ground. Can we ask them to provide all photographs of all cars that entered and left the carpark under the freedom of information act? so that we can find the photographs where our car did enter, then leave, and then entered, and then left the car park to prove our case?
