Hi i wonder if someone can give me some advise? I had back surgery 6 weeks ago, before i went on sick leave i offered to work from home for my employers but they said no if on sick im on sick, i even offered if someone collected me i could go into the office, but again told no as if there was a fire i might not get out and also compnay insurance wouldnt cover me. My bf lives in usa in the country and offered me to go there to recuperate for the last two weeks as at home i wasnt eating properly ( couldnt be bothered to cook for myself) and doing stuff i shouldnt be doing like hoovering , lifting etc due to boredom. My surgeon said i would be ok to fly and the relaxing countryside and someone to look after me would be beneficial to myself. i have read this would be ok as long as i wasnt doing anything i could do in the workplace? i am purely recuperating, as it isnt exactly a beach holiday so no alcohol etc or late naights just family living going to bed early exercising when i should. Would my employer have a problem with this?
