  1. Hi All I want to begin the process of the subject access request, however I have just moved house and all my records are boxed up in storage. I just wondered if it was possible to do this and just quote my old address, saying I had an account with them registered under that address. Is it really that easy do you think? Or will I need to provide evidence of old or new address etc? Cheers, Craig
  2. Just to update, letter of refusal sent recorded delivery on Tuesday, received letter today offering full refund of 100% of charges! Seems they are beinging to pay quicker now and without fuss, many thanks to this group for the advice and help. Donation will be on way once funds are in my mitts!!
  3. Thanks for the advice karnevil, much appreciated!

  5. Hi All Send Data Protection request about 7 weeks ago, got cheque back, received statements on day 33, and calculated First Direct owed me £1,416. Sent off a Preliminary Approach letter via Recorded Delivery on Wednesday (11th October), and on Saturday received a response offering £1,204 (85%) in full and final settelement, without prejudice. Reasons stated as "confident of resisting a legal challenge, but mindful of management time and irrecoverable legal costs in relation to claim". Is it normal to get this offer so early in the process, i.e. 4 days after preliminary approach? Also wondered what the best course of action is now. I am 99% sure the answer is reject and carry on for full amount, however which path do I take: a) Ignore letter, and wait until 14 days is up and do LBA? b) Respond, saying accept it towards claim and will pursue balance. If I respond as b) above, do I still wait until the 14 days is up before doing the LBA (assuming they do not respond to me), or do I just go ahead and issue the LBA straight away as they have responded to my preliminary approach? Any help appreciated! Thanks Craig
  6. Hi Folks Sent off my request for charges with the usual £10 cheque on August 26th, received cheque back on August 29th with letter saying courier statements to follow, however today is day 30 from the date of initial letter and still no courier! Not overly panicking yet, but am wondering if this is normal for such a delay, or if I should give FD a nudge (if so by letter or phone)? Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks Craig
