  1. Oh sorry Dx I forgot to say I got it from Tecas in North Tyneside. I'll not buy another Baumatic appliance if they contunue to use 0800 Repair
  2. Hi Dx Its about 3 1/2 yrs old. I havent had to pay for the work done by the way it was covered for that
  3. Hi All I'm having a big problem with the appliance repair company who operatesunder the name of 0800 Repair I have notices that they have appeared on the site asrecently as June 2012 but this is now RESOLVED for this fellow consumer. Thatwas quite a long thread and has huge similarities to my issues so it is clearthat they have learnt nothing from that particular experience. I wont bore you all with the full details but after a faultdeveloped in our Baumatic dish washer we contacted Baumatic back in April 2012which resulted in the following: · An initial visit to check fault · Several calls to call centre to enquire ofprogress where they blamed the delays on parts · Second visit from engineer. Made repair and toldto leave for several hours for glue to dry. Good I thought and I even gave hima £5 tip · Later that evening tested dishwasher which failedto operate resulting in another call to 0800 repair · Third visit from engineer (same as lastengineer) who was extremely rude to my wife telling her that she had floodedthe machine. Strange as it hadn’t even worked from the so called repair whichhe made. He left suggesting he would put report into the office · Another call to the call centre where I complainedand refused to have that engineer back in my home! · Several days and several calls later a Forthengineer visit with a new engineer who hadn’t been given any history of thejob. He made an assessment and left · Several days and several calls later a fifthengineer visit, same guy as last visit, who striped machine diagnosed that thepump hadn’t been out back together properly by the previous engineer causing waterto FLOOD into the base triggering the cut out switch correctly preventing themachine from operating. The long and short of it I’ve put in an eight page complaint, strangely enough before I had read the other thread, highlighting a massive 70%failure rate in their own code of conduct and also pointing out the follwomgfrom their web site: ‘Why chose 0800 Repair’: Arrive on time Provide you with a fully qualified engineer local to your area Provide you with a specific timeslot Fast Reliable Service Fixed Price Labour Code of conduct My response to this is: 1. No times are givenby the Call Centre so how do we know? 2. How do clients knowthey are ‘fully qualified’? 3. I’ve not been givena timeslot for any of the visits other than the first one 4. Very slow andunreliable 5. I can’t questionthis 6. Only 30% successful After many emails and calls I eventually had a call from alady who agreed with the points within my complaint and promised a letter of apologyto my wife which was over three weeks ago and we are still waiting for that. In respect of compensation for all the stress, inconvenienceand time out of work they said that it is not their policy to offer financial compensationbut they would offer a 3 year parts and labour warranty on the dishwasher. I toldthem that this was of little interest as our house was up for sale and thedishwasher was integrated. She said that she would get back to me but I’m stillwaiting for that call and she is not answering my calls or returning my voice mailsor my emails. In fact only this week I emailed three people within 0800 repairand they haven even had the decency to reply, non of them. I’ve even cc’dBaumatic and they haven’t responded either!! Despite that fact that they said they don’t give financial compensationI not with a smile that they did give our fellow consumer a £100 for hershocking experience. Anyway if you have got this far than many thanks for readingand if you can offer any advice for my next stage them I’ll happily ready anyofferings
  4. Spoke to a very nice guy at SC&G today and give them the advice suggested by Lucid. I had to use the full works though and although he didnt say no I did have to say that I will attend court on Tuesday. We can only wait and see if anything happens now.
  5. Hi Trick. I'm in a similar situation and Lucid gave me this bit of advice; I would get in touch with them by phone tomorrow - as you don't have much letter sending time left. Tell them that you will only accept it as partial payment as they haven't included the statutory interest. Make sure you know (from your schedule of charges) how much interest you earned until the date you filed the claim, and then make sure you know how many days have passed since then and what your daily rate of interest is. If they try to argue, point out that you are entitled to claim it under Section 69 of the County Court Act at the rate of 8% per annum. If they try to convince you that as they are paying up before the hearing then you aren't entitled to it - don't budge, and make it clear that you will only accept it as partial settlement and are more than prepared to turn up in court on Tuesday. You will get it - you just might need to get tough. I hope that helps
  6. Thank you very much Lucid !
  7. Cant believe it! After checking ballance they've mad a deposit. Its not the full amount though its minus the 8% interest - Swines - Should I conta t them and say still going to court? What do you think?
  8. What would happen if they dont turn up?
  9. I'm scheduled at court on Tuesday 6th Feb. I've used the letters recomended by GaryH and had no reply from SC&M. Garry was right they are a waste of time and very unprofessional. I made the error of telling then so (oops) so I guess they'll take me all the way now. I'm bricking it to say the least but I will attend and see what happens. I'm sort of hoping that they wil still settle before I attend so fingers crossed.
  10. Yeh no problem Reload - Thanx again
  11. Livelylad I think I must have made a typo earlier. I'm was claiming £2,995 + interest
  12. Thanks lucid. I've just read one of the success stories from LTSB and he got a letter from their solicitors a few days after their defence letter offering full settlement. I guess there is hope yoe but I guess it cant do any harm to write in about the intyerest
  13. Its about £1k livelylad
  14. Guys is can I add the interest that I foolishly missed off now or is it too late for that? Should I contact them and suggest that?
  15. Ah thanx Reload, your a star!
  16. Livelylad what does pm me mean (Soz I'm thick)
  17. Thanks to everyone!!!! I feel a bit happier and will take ypour advice:grin:
  18. Thanks fot the quick reply. Its Lloyds TSB. So you think its worth taking them on?
  19. I've been unsuccesful with my on line claim (on the last day) and I've now received a defence to the claim at my local court. Should I proceed??? I wouldnt care I messed up my claim in the first place cos I was claiming £299 + the 8% but I didnt add the 8% to my total, not realising until I'd submitted the claim. Anyway their defance has 9 points and seems to go on forever, even onto a seperate sheet. I cant list it all here but they say that when I opened the account I knwe that there would be charges and if I'd stayed in credit etc., I'm woried now that I'm going to be the first person to fail and end up owing them money that I cant afford to pay! Can anyone advise please?:o
  20. Thanx Stacey. I guess I'll do that but keep the origional with the 8% in case I have to go for further action.
  21. Thank you very much Ihatebanks, its much appreciated!
  22. I've now got all my statements and I've calculated the charges using a spread sheet I found in the library on this site! This spread sheet calculates interest at 8% but a friend who I recomended this site to has found another spread sheet which states that you only claim the 8% if you go to court! Can anyone advise which is correct? I cant wait to send in my spread sheet but there appears to be lots of different advice as to where to send it in to. I sent my origional letter to my Lloyds TSB branch and I received my statements from Swallow House in Birmingham. Any ideas :-?
  23. Thanks DW190. Your help is appreciated!!
  24. I'm sorry if I've fluffed this up but I'm new to this forum. Anyway I hope someone can help? If I've paid 33 months of a 58 month replayment plan with a finance company can I just had the goods back without paying them any more money? Someone told me that you can do this via the 1974 Consumer Credit Act. The agreement says that my agreement is covered by this act but doesnt provide any other information! Any help is appreciated
