  1. Hi Suprise, Thanks for the update. I suspect it is common practise that their counter staff 'accidently' mis inform people to get them to come in - once in they dazzle you with all kinds of wierd and wonderful offers that will supposedly 'save' you money.. odd thing is they usually seem to end up costing you money... I couldn't tell you the amount of times Halifax increased my Visa limit without me asking for it! Yet after entering into a DMP they are the only ones to refuse to suspend any interest or charges (15 months into a DMP and never missing a paymeny I find myself oweing them £2.5K more than when i started!)
  2. BTW, Sorry Bank Fodder - forgot to say thanks! (getting heated up in the moment! ha ha)
  3. rats - that is going to be VERY difficult to procve as it was all verbal (although they seemed to have got LOTS of people in at the same time on spurious reasons as the bank was rammed full of people coming in see people - the whole thing seems to have been a huge '[problem]' by Halifax to get people in to sell them things - seems staff where telling epople they needed to come in for 'reviews' left right andd centre just to pitch them stuff. I wonder if the counter staff got as bung for every referal? Be interesting to hear if anyone else had a similar experience though? (it was Halifax Erdington and Sutton Coldfield that both told me the Card Cash accounts hwere being scrapped at the end of May 06)
  4. Hi all, Apologies but I am new to this. Can any onf you kind souls give me some guidence (apart from don't drink the water!). I was 'mis lead' into having a current account with Halifax in May 06. I had a Card Cash account (so just the basics) for a number of years and was then told at the start of May 06 that they where closing all Card Cash accounts down and if i didn't take up their offfer of having a current account by the end of May i wouldn't have a bank account (yes, how guilable am I !). I made an appointment to go in in mid May and they persuaded me to have a current account and a loan to consolidate any exisiting credit as they said that they could then vet me for a mortgage (their idea not mine) so I agreed. I subsuently had problems in 2008 and ended up running up to my overdraft limit and maxing my Halifax Visa. The old Card Cash account is STILL active (as i have recently had a statement through on it! - got about 70p in it! ha ha). My questions are: A, do I have a case for being 'mis sold' the account and if so do i have to repay the overdraft ? B, My loan agreement which was sold to me at the same time is from May 06 and so is this within the time frame for it being done wrongly? ANY advice is very much appreciated. MANY thanks in advance, Tedness!
