  1. The only intrest was the one calculated by the spead sheet, not the 8% though, on the initial charges and interest. The actual charges where about £958 and interest added, £50. I will be adding 8% if I/we have to put a claim in, so it's a win, win situation.
  2. Sending off the request for payment letter tomorrow along with the schedual of charges. I'm owed a grand total of £1008.68, not as much as some are owed but still a lot to me. Onwards and upwards as they say ;-)
  3. Cheer's for that, i knew it would be simple, just like me
  4. Sorry for appearing thick but I need some advice. After going through page after page on the above thread i still can't see an answer to this question, so can someone advise me? please. On my statements from the HSBC, they only apply total interest and total charges, not itemised ones indicating what the intrest or the charges are for i.e. returned cheques and direct debits. can i therfore ask for the total interest and total charges back or just the charges? hope that makes sence.
  5. Let's hope they send you back the £10 fee as I've just received mine back and welcome to the group and good luck with your claim
  6. Just received a letter back from customer services advising me that they have recredited my account with the £10 I sent to cover the Data Protection request. Stated 'Fee not required for information requested'. I wonder if they suddenly realise that people are on to them? I hope so, still no sign of the statements though, so they aren't that good but it's only been 20 days and not the 40 I'm expecting to wait 8)
  7. Now set up another bank account and HSBC should have received my application for disclosure. Now i maybe a bit paranoid but I am now having trouble logging on to the internet banking system to veiw my account . it could be pure coincidence but it does make you think
  8. What a fantastic site. After a couple of days reading FAQ and various threads etc, I'm in the process of sending my first disclosure letter to HSBC. I've already made an application for an account with another bank due to the excessive charges made by the HSBC, so I was already on my way out of the door so to speak. This will be a nice parting shot for them after 24 years of loyal custom but no more. I've had enough and its time for the little man to say 'enough is enough'. So HSBC, bring it on.
