  1. Basically I have asked Halifax to pay back £1457.00 in July 2008, then a further £175 in June and July of this year. These fees spiraled prior to christmas to £500 in one month and due to this explained to Halifax the my salary couldn't cover my bills as two weeks into November my overdraft was used to the full basically on charges. I was sent a common financial statement, but didnt complete this as it was mostly concerning outgoings and not charges, I explained that I did prioritise my debts (however now I am two month in arrears with mortgage, loan payments, credit cards and have had court order summons with council tax). I sent my council tax letters and a printout of charges they had given me. It was first rejected then i was sent another IE for which I sent back, this time was offered £45.00 and no charges for three months. I obviously wasn't happy with this and sent another letter with (what I thought more valid points) to my claim and as you can see from the attached letter my points, including council tax court order, mortgage arrears and at one point charged over £500 in month basically 'fair" . I have been advised to seen a Money advice Centre, however I am slowly digging myself out of this situation, but still feel I am owed my charges as if it wasn't for them I would be in this situation. Any suggestion? halifax.pdf
