redundancy and new contracts
moses25 replied to moses25's topic in Employment and minimum wage problems
thanks thats what I thought but I have nothing so i will take it up. -
My job was made redundant in March 2009 and I was deemed not good enough to be given the new role that replaced my old role. I appealed and was re-instated. I have not been given a new contract or conditions of service/staff handbook. Can they insist that my old contract is still valid even though it is for a job thant no longer exists and actually finished in March 2009 any help

they also made me redundant last March but I won an appeal and was re-instated, I had no new contract and assumed the same conditions applied as when |I had my knee op. the regional manager then said to me that off cousre company sick pay would be paid no problem so |I assumed the same. I had no reason to think it wold be different. It is discretionary

I work for a major retailer in London. Last October I was seriously verbally abused and threatened by a customer. I went off sick (the year before i had been physically attacked by a customer resulting in major surgery on my knee) and saw my GP. I was a mess couldn't stop crying was having flashbacks ect. I was referred to a consultant physiacyatrist and have subsequently been diagnosed with PTSD. My company did pay discretionary sick pay until 28th Jan this year. have seen an occupational health doctor who has said I am off work for at least another 2 months company has now said they will only pay SSP from 28th Jan. I know they have paid other managers full pay when they have been off sick with long term illnesses. Can they change their minds on this without explaining why. I feel they are trying to force me back to work when I am not ready and they don't believe I am still sick. I am still undergoing therapy and the company knows this. Any one any similiar experience
