Cheers! (below link to previous thread). http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/halifax-bank/27471-j-chambers-halifax-offer.html

Hi All, I've just sent of my Data Protection Act request to Barclays this is the 3rd one I've sent to a different bank - I thought I had all of my statement for this account but there are gaps..... It's amazing how much you are being [edit] by these places and even more scary when you add the amounts up!!! If all goes well I should have a tidy sum of money before Christmas!! Here we go!
  7. Thanks, for the encouragement... If you don't mind me asking cillitbanger how much did they re-fund you? Cheers!

  11. Hi Matt, There's no need to photocopy letters etc. I just sent them in an excel sheet in this format: I then totalled everying up at the bottom.. Hope that helped mate! Cheers.
  12. Hi Hedgehog, Just a quick question... Will they actually still deposit the offer of £300.00 into my account even though they know I will persue the rest of the claim? Cheers!
  13. Hi, I send a letter today (01/09/06) stating - ACCOUNT NUMBER: XXXXXX Sort Code: XX-XX-XX Dear Mr Collett, Thank you for your letter on 28th August offering to refund £300.00 of charges against my account. I would like to accept this offer as partial payment of my claim of £1492.00 this amount includes any recent charges. I appreciate costs are incurred for every transaction made and would be happy to pay the true cost of such an automated process, especially as your company has already confirmed to me that there has been no manual intervention. If you would like to send me a breakdown of how you calculate the costs, and that these are not in fact penalty charges, I would consider reviewing my position. In the meantime I shall be continuing with my claim and failing full settlement of £1492.00 reaching my account in cleared funds by 14th September 2006 I will have no alternative but to pursue my claim through the court which may incur interest and further charges. If you would like to avoid this course of action, please do not hesitate to contact me. Here we go!! It looks like its all happening now......
  14. Hi, I had actually sent my LBA before they made me an offer (after the 14 days). I suppose i could include another letter stating what you have suggested. However on my acceptance form it states that accepting there offer would mean that the complaint is settled can they use that against you in court? Thanks for you advice Hedgehog... any more thoughts advice welcome.
  15. Hi, I received a letter today making me an offer it states ".....Ultimately it is your responsiblity to manage your account. However, as a gestire of goodwill I am prepared to offer a refund of £300 in full and settlement of your complaint." Baring in mind that the total I'm reclaiming is £1402.00. Thats less than a quarter of the amount.... are they having a laugh? What do I do next, and how do I refuse the offer and is there any thing else i can do before I start legal proceedings and advice welcome! Cheers!
  16. I sent my DPA request at the start of July and received all my statements. I then calculated my charges etc. and sent of my first letter requesting my money back! I got a letter back from the Halifax on 12/08/06 basically saying that they were sorry to hear that I was not happy with the charges applied to my account and that they had forwarded a copy of my letter to the customer relations dept for their consideration. How long do I wait before sending the second letter and is this just the usuall response from the bank? Thanks.
  17. I got a letter back saying that they had recieved my letter and that my statements would be with me in the next few days and that was over 4 weeks ago.
