  1. Oh er, thats worrying. It was my X that informed me twas a parking ticket chasing him and he isn't reliable. But it still doesn't mean they should chase me whatever it is, as long as it isn't pre-december 2005 which is when I became legally seperated? But, I think it IS for parking ticket. It says Northampton county court and I googled that thinking it very odd and find they have some funny departments that cover traffic things.
  2. I will do Rae and thank you for your kindness. I asked the bailiff to please check the DVLA and the electoral roll etc when he wouldn't take my word about my Ex not residing here, now or ever. Because there should be nothing that leads anyone to believe he lives here. He claims benefits between jobs at his flat. And has his current vehicle registered there. Will update you all on monday.
  3. Registration document in my name, and dated the same as my reciept for the car - Mar 2009. For myself I've always been very proper about my dealings with people and paperwork. This whole thing has arisen because I'm a muppet! I moved to this house after seperating from my Ex. He has never lived here and I can provide proof and witness in a thousand ways. But he did use it as a C/O address during repetitive spells of homelessness - I never invited him to, but I never dared to stop him from doing it to start with. He IS the father of my children and I try really hard not to rock the boat and especially not his temper. I couldn't have imagined it would bite me in the ass like this though! I got him to stop a long time ago, but got a couple of letters addressed to him here last year and it seemed churlish to stick them back in the postbox, which is what I'd taken to doing previously. Presumably the bailiffs have written and threatened legal action, I've passed the post on to my ex who has made a payment agreement with them which he's gotten half way through paying and then has lapsed. He's told me of this when I've phoned him last Dec furious that bailiffs have visited. I asked why they didn't have his current address and asked him to give it to me but he wouldn't. It isn't until now that I have any paperwork relating to the matter - I have the 'Notice of distress'/'Walking possession agreement' that they put through the door today. It says they are acting for the ''''''''''''' city council, by virtue of a 'liability order' issued by the county court in Jun 2009. I bought the car in Mar 2009. The bailiff insists the car is still registered to my ex, and refuses to even look at the V5. And rossendales won't hold a conversation with me. I'm cross that they won't go to his address and take his car or stuff now I've gone to the trouble of getting his address. But now I've realised the stuff they posted to through the door today tells me who is sending the bailiffs I will contact them on monday as suggested by you guys. But am feeling pretty dejected and unhopeful by this point.
  4. Oh and forgot to say, she doesn't get motability. It is still going to cause huge problems for me, above and beyond normal if anyone messes with my car : ( If I can't find a way of getting it all stopped on Monday, I will have no choice but to pay the £200+ they are chasing. Even if it is not mine to pay. But its going to upset me and make me horribly ill if I have to pay it, not to mention struggling to cover my bills this month in that case.
  5. Thanks for swift replies. Am feeling alot better now - have been reading on the internet, though its pretty confusing. And now have calmed down, the walking possession thing doesn't happen for 5 days? The bailifffs are insisting the car is still in my ex's name. And refuse to look at the registration documents to see that it isn't. (this state I acquired it Mar 2009) And they don't want to see my reciept for it. It just frightened me. They said the only thing they were interested in was my car. They didn't want me to show them where my ex now lives. They said the courts had given them permission to take my car and that they had no power to stop the process unless I wanted to pay the debt. I just hope the City council will actually speak to me on monday! And not refuse to discuss the case with me, as Rossendales have previously because its not in my name.
  6. Please help if anyone knows anything about all this works.... Bailiffs have served an unsigned walking possession agreement to my house (where I live alone with my children) saying they will take the car from my drive, for a debt that is not in my name. My youngest daughter is disabled and the car important to us. DECEMBER 2009 - Rossendales visited my address in for a debt of my ex-husband. Been maritally and financially seperated since Dec 2005. But I bought my current car from Ex in Mar 2009. I rang the Bailiff that had visited. Turns out the debt is an unpaid parking ticket of my exhusband's from 2008, of which he made some payments to rossendales before lapsing on the agreement. I offered proof that he doesn't live here, and that we seperated before the fines were incurred, and that I bought the car from him in Mar 2009, but that he didn't own it at the time we seperated (So not ex-marital property) and offered to show reciept and logbook to show when bought it. He didn't to want to know though. I had a fit at my ex and told him to deal with it and hoped he had. TODAY - they have put a walking possession through the door with my car listed on it (Although they've written that it is a vectra, and its actually a peugeot 406)They keep telling me they are going to take it. And that I should pay the debt? And that they'll consider a payment arrangement because I'm on carer's allowance. Can they do this? Is the walking possession agreement valid though they've signed it themselves? How do I get it removed from my car/property? Its addressed to my ex-husband whom I have not lived with since 2005 is it still valid? Is it invalid because inaccurate about car description? Do I have to pay these people? Please help! Everytime I think about it today I get upset and have hypoglycaemic episodes, and don't know if I can last until citizens advice/solicitors open on monday.
