April '08 we moved into our house, it was New Build and we were first in. We took gas and electricity readings (the builders had used some gas to dry out the plaster work and elecricity when showing people around) and sent these to E.On the supplier. Then (in all honestly) we forgot about it. After a few months we became away that we hadn't paid any bills but didn't dwell on the matter as money was tight. Now in Dec '09 over a year and a half later we got sent a gas bill from E.On out of the blue for the full amount. Do I have any rights here? I'd be hard pressed to pay the full amount and would like to settle with them for a smaller amount paid monthly over a year or so - any way to get them to agree to this? Thoughts/info appreciated...
