Has anyone any knowledge of what you should do with the debts of husband or spouse taken out in their name only prior to brain damage, subsequent loss of employment. Married man suffers brain damage through stroke. Worked, PPI paying out but the employment agency says the family would be better off on disability. they do so. PPI stop paying, and the family struggle to repay. after 7 years they are still repaying through a debt agency. all debts are secondary. Children are now teenagers and costs are rising and at a staggerings £200 approx per month is a lot of money. Wife cannot leave him on his own so cannot work, she is his permanent carer. The big question is was he liable, the cards etc were in his sole name, there was no property. council rented. Can anyone help!
