Hello People, I have one here for you. I have received a summons to court. The debt is for unpaid University fees. The first I heard of this was in November 2009. The fees were due at the start of academic year 2004 (September). I am going to submit a defence to the court stating that they have no jurisdiction as the debt is statute barred. In addition to a counter claim of harrassment by a member of the faculty (the reason why I left University without completing the course). Along with a defence stating that the only income my family and I live off is working tax credits along with housing support and counsil tax support (i.e. even if the debt was enforceable). I thus have three questions: 1: Is the debt statute barred? 2: I am able to counter claim through the Protection From Harassment Act? 3: If they do win the action, what can a small court do, if I genuinely have no income or possessions?
