  1. yeah, thats what i thought, i was hoping the bit they tend to put on the back of letters about wanting to help with your situation wasn't just crap tbh lol no harm in asking though eh?
  2. hi i'm about to enter a very difficult month or so financially, moving from weekly pay to monthly, so effectively i will have to make a weeks wage last bout 6 weeks, with a partner on maternity leave at the minute. we're just keeping our heads about water with debt etc but will be pretty much screwed without my income. my question is this, on most letters from banks, credit companies etc it says "contact us if you are unable to make your payment" if i contact them, for example to tell RBS that i won't be able to make my monthly loan payment, because as much as i enjoy paying them each month, i would much rather spend it in food if need be, will they be understanding or basically tell me its tough ****? I'm not in a massive amount of debt, owing about £7-8k to various companies, but without any pay i really am going to struggle.

    CSA

the CSA have been nothing but trouble for me over the last couple of years I don't have a problem paying for my kids, what gets to me is that all the CSA has done in my case is give ammunition to a vengeful mother. For the life of me, I can't understand how CSA payments aren't means tested on both sides, my ex's household income is literally treble what mine is at the minute, what i give her she calls a "pittance" but 15% of my wage atm is killing me (partner is on maternity leave) and she readily admits that she is only claiming it because she can. Grrr. Currently getting my MP to slap them about a bit...hopefully.
  4. hi just a quick question regarding deductions from earnings, the council want to take some money out of my wage each week, presumably the amount is based on what i earn, and in the past the csa have threatened to take money out of my wage too is the cumulative amount they can take a set percentage of my wage or can they take what they want to settle the debt? say the council want to take 10% each week, the CSA taking an additional 15% each week would screw me financially on what is already a tight budget?
  5. Hi, I'd like a bit of advise regarding how to deal with Debt Managers chasing up a debt of mine... A bit of background, Npower screwed up my electricity bill a couple of years ago, I moved house shortly afterwards and forgot all about the letters I had received etc. I received a letter from Call Serve regarding the outstanding debt, which at the time stood at £400 i think, I setup a payment plan with them etc and paid some of it off, then I got into difficulties with money and stopped paying them. I later received another letter from them asking for payment, I rung them to try and sort something, they told me that the debt had been passed onto Debt Managers, who started sending me letters about it. They're the usual "we DEMAND payment or we'll send the boys round to take your stuff" sort of thing, but because I'm in arrears with the payment plan I made, they won't accept any other payment or make another payment plan until that is paid off, which i just can't afford at the minute (i'm £110 behind on my payment plan) If there anything I can do? Surely they should accept a token payment to get me started then I can get back on track? I'm also a little concerned that the debt was passed on to another agency without telling me but as i rang them and started paying I suppose its too late to do anything about that? Any advise is welcome
