  1. Hi, new to the forum and have a nightmare that I'd like some help with please. I applied for a couple of bank accounts recently and was declined, even with credit scores of 921 with experian, and similar with Equifax. Spoke to experian who then linked my file with my old address, even though they had it on file already, and a defaul notice via Aktiv Kapital was applied to it. The default relates to an overdraft I had with HSBC some 2 1/2 years ago and I paid the amount in full to Atkiv Kapital. Naively being told that because the debt was settled that my credit score would not be affected. As of today it's now gone down to 699 and is in the Poor category. Experian advised me that the only people that are able to get the Default removed are Aktiv Kapital. First phone call with them ended up with the call handler being aggressive and offensive over the phone. Called them back and spoke to their complaints department. They say that they're now going to apply for the relevant documentation from HSBC regarding the account that I defaulted on. Is there any way of getting the default removed, or am I screwed until 2013. Thanks in advance, Andy.
