  1. Hi , I deleted my last post here as I waffled on so much and I think I should NOT have. Sorry! citizenB has kindly directed me to what I was more or less trying to convey here in this link: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?398336-Has-my-Inheritance-completely-disappeared.
  2. Hi , If I can proof that I have paid the same overdraft twice , can SAR go back all those years to give me the evidence I need? In other words , all my transactions with the bank , payments etc and payments from an asset account?
  3. Hi , can anyone tell me how far back can I go to claim on bank /overdraft charges. I was having a clear out when I came across an old suitcase with all my old bank statements inside. Immaculate condition and in their green plastic statement holders. I have nearly every bank statement since 1988 to 1994, bar 5 of them.
  4. Dear Fendy , I have been following your post recently and just wondered how you have progressed with your claim as your last post on this subject was 2007. I too have a similar problem with Lloyds bank with charges going back from 1988 to 1994/5. I am about to go to SAR to get the relevant information on my account, but reading your posts I really don't hold much hope!!! Just wondered on your side of things....have you found any old cheque books lying around in old handbags etc or old bills ie: mortgage papers perhaps it may show a payment made from your old bank account , and that it might show on your mortgage statements!! ..just a thought.
  5. thank you both citizenB and dx100uk. I have just clicked onto the link and it looks quite straight forward , so I will promptly get on with it. Just hope they can go back to 1986 , with the data protection act being 1998 ?
  6. Hi dx100uk , thank you for coming back to me and the advice. Not sure what SAR is? but I will look into it. Thank you again.
  7. Hi , some many years ago I was left a small inheritance in stocks and shares from my late Aunt. At the time the stock market crashed and I lost one heck of a lot of money, the assets were dwindling fast. I asked my Asset Manager to close my account and pay the remainder of my assets into my current account. The bank offered me an overdraft instead and I used it. I realized I was paying it back at a very high level of interest and the level of my overdraft was hardly making a downward move . On top of this my house was on the market but , I had to take it off the market as the house developed subsidence. I was ill with worry trying to pay this overdraft back and keep my mortgage going with interest and with the bank Manager hounding me day and night!. I eventually settled for an early settlement from the loss adjusters with the house and managed to repay all the mortgage on the house and clear the overdraft with masses of interests applied. Does that mean my inheritance has completely disappeared?
  8. Thank you for the prompt reply to my question Brigadier2JCS , most helpful.
  9. Hi , I am new to this thread. Can some one tell me what the difference is between an Overdraft and being Over drawn means.
  10. A decision has been made and that I will have a much stronger case if I make a new application and withdraw from the original.
  11. Hi Zamzara, Thank you for the info , I have just recieved a letter of acknowledgement from the Tribunal Service today , with affect to me cancelling. I have one month to appeal from the date of withdrawal. I have taken everthing on board from what you have said , so I will make a new application, and get every last detail and info together. Much appreciated and I will keep you posted.
  12. Hi Old Andrew 2007, Thank you for your reply , Yes thinking about it now , I will put in another claim and this time seek help from CAB with the form. Please can you tell me what does IMHO mean? You don't have to ...if you don't want , but I am new here and I'm not sure on short abbreviations! Thank you once again.
  13. Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me advise, I am in a quandary as to what to do. I applied for DLA earlier this year, and I have had a tribual date set for early next month December. Since all this waiting I have had more pain with another disability , I seeked advise from CAB , who said I had 3 options: 1) Cancel The Tribunal 2) Have a Paper Hearing without me being present OR 3) Apply for a New Application with the help of CAB He pointed out to me that if I had a Paper hearing the judges would only go for what I have put on the DLA Form , and not for the more recent disability I have. He also pointed out to me that if , and a Big " IF " I was awarded anything and I wanted to upgrade through my present disability then the award could be easily taken away from me completely! Please any thoughts...!!
