Hi all I am a new member and would like to start by congratulating contributors for the stellar work they do on this forum. In october 2008 i received a letter from Lowell Portfolio requesting payment of an outstanding payment owing to 3 mobile dating back to 2005 for £30.83. Having no recolection of any oustanding payment i chose to ignore the letter and have continued to do so despite several letters from Lowell and their affliates (Red Debt Collection Agency and Mackenzie Hall). In that time Lowell have made 3 separate searches on my credit file. Earlier this month i received a letter from Philips Collection Services who say that they are collecting on behalf of Lowell. The fact they are bailiffs has me concerned and I am considering settling the debt but wanted to clarify if doing so constitutes an admission of owing the debt? If yes does this mean that Lowell will/can enter a default on my name (the fact that it would be 'satisfied' would be of no comfort) Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks
