Hi Mikey, thanks for replying. The thing is, the generel opinion from people i have spoke to is that because i would be voluntarilly giving my job up, then i would be given money for the kids to live on but not for myself. I know that you get a 6 month ban from JSA if you quit a job but im unsure of how it works with IS. I am looking to do an access to nursing course and would be entitled to a bursary x

I am a 27 year old single mum of 3 from Scotland. I have been working in my current job for nearly 4 years and do a 35-40 hr week. The times of opening changed around 6 months ago from 10am-6.30pm to 8am-9.30pm. I have really tried to make my new circumstances work but with 10, 8 and 2yr old children it is extremely difficult. Im tired, stressed and i can't keep up with my housework and my mum (who looks after the kids for me) is really struggling too. I have been hoping to quit my job asap and start college after the new year but i am worried that i wont be entitled to any benefits. I have tried phoning numerous places for advice and am constantly just given other numbers to phone. Nobody seems to know anything. Not sure how much more i can take!!!
