  1. I sent my Prelim letter on 11th August, heard nothing - so on 29th sent LBA to the branch by special delivery (they would have definitely got that on the 30th.) Today 1st Sept. I have rec'd a letter dated 30th August from Edinburgh offering 50% settlement with the conditions- full and final settlement & any future charges that accrue must stand. So this letter was in reply to the prelim but arrived at the 11th hour. HELP!!! I want to accept the 50% offer, as I am skint. But I want to pursue the full amount. However, I have already sent an LBA, as there was a crossing over of letters. Should I, sign the acceptance but cross out the conditions, or write a completely new letter. Do you think they will pay out the 50% offer asap if I continue to pursue the whole amount? Can anyone help please. Davros
  2. 43 days since requesting statements- on enquiring to bank in person- I was told that copy statements are being sent to branches for collection, BUT the bank did not inform me that they were ready to collect. Apparently if they are not collected in 5 days, they are destroyed. The bank are saying this is a "problem" and that they are trying to redress the problem. Has any one else heard of this? __________________ The bank is RBS. Statements were requested 23.06.06. Cheque for £10 cashed 11.07.06. Never heard a thing from the bank. Rang them 3 days ago and they said they had no record! but when I explained the £10 had been taken the manager said he would follow it up and call me back. When no call came I went to the bank in person. I was then told that they were having a problem due to the volume of requests for statements- then went on to say that if statements were not collected from the branch they would be destroyed after 5 days!! The problem is the bank (RBS) is failing to tell the client the statements are ready for collection. This "problem" as they so put it, is to be redressed. The person I spoke to would not take any further action as the manager was not in the office, and she did not want to duplicate any work he was doing. She said she would leave a note for him to telephone on Monday. When I told the bank person the 40 day rule had passed- she wasn't interested in the least. But did comment that if I had not gone overdrawn I would not have incurred any charges. Example: went OD by £12 and incurred 3 charges of 2x £38 and a further £28 so now I am over £100 OD instead of 12. __________________ Statements finally appeared after 47 days. But nothing on any defaults. Prelim. letter gone, on 08.08.06. I am owed £2030.14. 14 days to go and counting.
  3. Hi, just sent the statments off on the 8th Aug 2006 they owe me £2031.42. This total is only over the last 2.5 years. Got a phone call saying that the statments will be sent to the relevent department of RBS. And the person on the phone says i should have a reply in the next couple of days. So will keep you posted on what happens next. Getting interesting now!!!!

  8. Anyone else had problems with gaining statments. Its now been 43 days and still nothing has been sent to me. Just been to the branch this morning and they are still nowhere to be seen. They did tell me that the staments can either be posted to your address or to branch. they do not tell you which one. also if the statments have been sent to the branch they don't notify you that they have arrived and ready for collection instead they leave it 5 days and then destroy the statments. Are these delaying tactics?
  9. I requested statements from the bank 23.6.06, using your templates and a £10 cheque. The cheque has been cashed- but I have heard zilch since. So the 40 days are already up. I will read on for more info on what to do next!!!
  10. Hi, Sent request for statements to RBS on June 23th 2006, have not heard anything. I am going to the bank this Friday- as they have charged me over £100 this month alone for being £12 overdrawn!!
