  1. I would love to be able to pay them off in full, but it is just not an option as the funds are not there. so my only option is to deal with them, and to try and claim my ppi back from them.
  2. Hi, I took out a loan with welcome finance 2 years ago last oct for £2000, over the two years i have missed 2 payments, 1 in each january. now instead of it being paid off in full, i am still making payments of £250 per month instead of the £184, to try and get it cleared. What i do not get is i have still got arrears of £600 on my account (when it was due to be paid in full it was over £1200). I am trying to claim back my ppi, i have recieved my subject access request from them in november, and i replied with the next letter giving them 8 weeks to reply before i go to the ombudsmen. but now the 8 weeks are nearly up i am at a loss to what letter i need to send next, and what to expect from them i.e when do they normally make an offer? during all of this i have continued to pay them the £250 per month, however i was due to pay them this week, and they phoned up to get my payment, but i did not have the money to pay them as money is extremely tight just after christmas, and i have extra bills to pay this month. I explained this to them on the phone, and spoke to the normal jumped up person, who is always talking down to you ( even visited us on our market stall in our town, to remind us our payment was due before 5pm that day in sept). I told him that i am not refusing to pay, but i cannot make a payment for 2 weeks. He then went on to tell me that i was defaulting on my loan, and he then asked me who i had to pay that day, and how much it was for. I told him that i was not telling him such personal information all he needed to know was that a payment i wasnt expecting had come out of my bank, and there was no money to make that payment. he then told me i was defaulting on my loan and that because my circumstances had changed he needed to see my bank statement for tuesday, so that he could see exactly who had been paid, and how much. I have to say that by this time i was fuming down the phone at him, and i told him that i knew he had to record the conversation on his computer, and that i wanted him to write down clearly so that it was on record, that i am not refusing to pay, and that i will pay it in 2 weeks time. what i need to check is, do i have to legally show him my bank statement, or is that just another thing that they make up. I told them that i would bring the statement down on friday, but i really dont see why i should? All i really want to do is phone them up on friday and tell them that i am not bringing in my bank statemnt, because i dont have to, and that i am refusing to pay any more money to them for all the interest that is left on my account, that has appeared from nowhere! What could be the worst that they can do? I know this is a really long thread, but i really need help to try and give them some of there own medicine, and to let them know that they cannot walk all over me anymore. I really have had enough of them!
  3. hi, thanks for your reply, if it is interest then why does it vary so much, and come more than once a month sometimes? is that legal? plus yes i do have other charges aswell, such as adhoc fee? etc.... can i claim these back at the same time? I will have a look at your link to look for the next step. thanks
  4. sorry to put so many posts without any reply from anyone, but can anyone explain to me what capitalisation charges are for, as i have had a charge every month before my payment ranging from £10 upto £108.27. can i reclaim these charges aswell, because i do not know what these are for? thanks again
  5. Hi again, i have been looking through the paperwork they have sent me through again, and the credit agreement shows that i have insurance added on for £738.31, being made up from 1st customer lifecare 24 of £195, plus ppi of £543. 31. can i claim all of the money back from them or just the ppi payment. I have also noticed that these were already filled in on the form when they sent it to me to sign and return, i did not have a choice in having them. I have been looking on some other threads for welcome finance, but i have not seen what my next step is, can someone help me please i would like to see if i can get this done in time for xmas. thank you
  6. hi, I have just recieved my details in reply to my sar request, but it all looks like double dutch to me. I dont know what i am looking for, and i especially do not know what my next step is, regarding claiming my money back. Please can anyone help me, i really am lost. thank you
  7. No unfortunately i did not see yours, i used a different one. I wish i had known there was a specific one for welcome finance. I take it they dont normally respond to a SAR letter then? do i have to wait 40 days or 40 working days ie mon-fri, before continuing to the next step? thanks
  8. HI, I sent the subject access request this morning via recorded delivery, to their nottingham head office address. I will try to get hold of direct group today, to ask them like you have suggested. I have reclaimed my bank charges before is the process similar to that?
  9. hi, I have just started looking into claiming back my ppi from welcome finance, I took out the loan on 20th sept 2007. for £2000. since looking on some other threads i have sent out my sar letter this morning by registered post. I presume that i now have to just wait for 40 days to get a reply from them. i will probably need help then, as i am unsure what the next step would be. I am also unsure as to wether or not i can claim anything, but i thought i would give it a try, as they are a nightmare to deal with anyway, so even if i just annoy them into more work it will be a bonus for me! but to be able to get money from them would be fantastic. Has anyone actually successfully claimed from welcome finance yet? thanks
  10. yes it has only got business insurance on it. I have tried phoning bristow and sutor again, and they have still not been sent the details from the council. I am phoning everyday to make sure i get to them before it is passed to their bailiffs, so i can make a payment plan with them. thanks again
  11. Thanks for your reply, i have tried to contact the council but they are refusing to accept any payment or installment plan, so i dont think i can pay online to them. as for the garage we cant close the door all day, and we have nowhere to park our van except for our drive. Can they take the van? as we only use it for our business, and cannot run our business without it. thanks again
  12. Hi, please excuse any mistakes, as this is the first time i have posted. I need help with my council tax arrears, they are now £740. I have phoned my council (north warwickshire borough council) who have said that they are going to be sent to bristow and sutor. I have tried asking them to accept an instalment plan, but they are refusing point blank, and have been very rude to me just saying i should have paid my council tax on time. I have even tried speaking to their supervisors. but with my husband being made redundant, and starting his own business, money has been extremely tight. I have phoned bristow and sutor, and as yet they have not recieved my file. Bristow and sutor are also saying that they wont send out a letter first they will just turn up at my house. I am also concerned that if they turn up, we run our business from our garage at home which is always open, is that still classed as entering our premises if they enter our garage! and will that give them the right to enter our house at a different time? I have tried reading through other posts but it is just so confusing to me. Please can someone help me ASAP, as i do not know what to do next! thank you
