Hi I sent my prelim letter on 16th August claiming £1,055 in charges. I received a letter today saying sorry you are unhappy etc, etc along with a leaflet explaining complaints procedure. In the letter from Barclays they say they will be in contact with me before the 14th September. Do I stick to the 14 day deadline i quoted in my prelim letter and send them another letter when this has expired? Thanks in advance
  2. Hi Sparkler Seems I'm up to the same stage as you (although I went through all mine with a nice yellow highlighter) I am going to crack on with the spreadsheet today. Which address are you sending your letter to? Thanks Lippy

Can anyone advise please? I sent off the the first letter at the end of June requesting copy statements and a few days later received the normal standard response about manual intervention etc. However I still haven't received any statements and have just gone over the 40 days - Do I send another letter reminding them or just hang on in there? Thanks in advance

Just a quick note, I was charged the standard £30 fee last week for going £18 over my £250 limit. I rang Barclays to complain and have just received a letter this morning saying that as a "gesture of goodwill" and "as my account has been run satisfactorily for 6 months" they will refund the £30 to my account. How nice - don't you think????!!!!!!!
  6. Just about to send off my initial request for charges letter to Barclays. I must admit I am a bit nervous but needs must. Would appreciate any advice at all.
  7. Have now read as much as I can on this great website and am just about to get the ball rolling by sending Barclays my initial request for a list of charges. In fact I was charged £30 only last week for going over by £250 limit, so I decided to ring them to see if they would refund this. A very nice young man told me that as I had gone over this limit in the last 12 months he couldn't refund it, (incidently the last time I incurred any charges was September 2005), so I put in a complaint for which I was given a reference no. and as of today I am still waiting for them to ring me. Would appreciate any advice from anyone. I have to say I am a bit nervous, but it has to be done.
