Dont know if this helps but I had a run in with dvla regarding a car i was keeping on an un adopted road/track and they say the vehicle must meet all sections of road traffic act if it is anywhere that the general public has access.hence your car must be taxed and insured etc if off roading.

hi all just been arguing black and blue with a swift credit bailiff collecting on a £155 fine that whilst he is collecting on this warrant he is a civillian enforcement officer and cannot charge in fees more than I was fined. He just kept saying he is a certificated bailiff and can charge fees agreed with the court to any level ( the £155 has grown to £515) can any body clarify this for me?

Hi, I have been having a run in with swift for a £200 magistrates court fine. They did the seemingly usual thing of pushing a letter through the door with out knocking to push up fees. When they eventually did knock some weeks later the sum due had risen to £515. I read in an HMCS leaflet that they cannot charge more than I was fined. Can any body clarify this. Whilst they were at the door I was bullied into agreeing to pay £100 a week, dispite telling them I am on JSA and only recieve £140 a week for the whole family. I have made 3 payments and they came last week to collect the rest saying there is a time limit on repaying. I managed to negotiate another week with them but now I only have £90 to give them. I am worried sick as giving them all of our money is forcing us to miss mortgage payments. Can they insist on such large sums in view of our circumstances?
