  1. There was a settlement letter included which states that there has been a recalculation but it doesn't seem to mention the start point of the new loan so whether the ppi removed from the first loan has been taken into account.
  2. My boyfriend has recently started the process of trying to uncover mis sold ppi's as well as recover bank charges and mis sold loans.... He had an original loan from hbos which was redrawn 1year later which in turn was sent to blair oliver and sons (another nightmare) however they have now sent us one cheque for the original loan for £320 for mis sold ppi and been notified of a further £1100 which has in turn cleared his arrears with hbos. Now based on some reading I have been doing (i am a complete novice but a lot better than him financally) I think that if the ppi was originally included in the loan there will be implications on the redrawn loan which I am unsure if they have at the clearing of arrears stage have taken in to account.... My question is...if the cheque is cashed is he accepting that the case is shut or can we still pursue that part of the redrawn loan was possibly not correct due to the ppi and any charges included. Hope that makes sense..
  3. Thanks JohnnyMitch. I feel some good climbing boots are definately required. We will follow up your comments re the SAR and also I will post on the PPi forum. Re the Crestion Finance i think it is quite similar to other stories I have heard with them being very difficult to deal with. He had bought a sofa on the 12month free deal and in turn did not pay it in time and was charged £1100 interest. £25 for every payment that did not clear (sometimes two a month). The interest was levied in December 2007 and he cleared the balance Jan2009 in full. In the meantime they have stated they are not under the same ruling as banks etc re apropriate charges for late payments and they have also advised there was no ppi. My boyfriend seems to have ppi on every other credit agreement he took so I find this strange especially as when we have requested his original cca they have sent a word document which lists the charges and payments in but no other details such as name / account number - very basic!! We are not disputing he owes the amount he paid however if the charges were not legal and the interest was unjust then certainly we would like to know. How can we be sure he was not charged ppi with this agreement? I am happy to move this to the appropriate forum- I just want to know what to do:( Bring on the mountaineers:-)
  4. Thank you so much for the responses - I have had limited internet access so was unable to post my gratitude earlier! He requested a SAR quite some time ago however all they sent him was his bank statements?? Should we send the original letter again stating we want his full history for his current account and loans?? I have another query re ppi with hbos and a whole other nightmare with Creation Finance should I put that on a seperate thread in the appropriate forums or should I keep everything in here? I want to help him but at times it just seems too big for a novice to deal with:( Thanks again for the advice so far...
  5. Thank you so much!! So good to know advice is available. I do not have photobucket but i've attached in pdf format and deleted his personal details. Any thoughts on his latest cca is really appreciated!! cca agreement.pdf
  6. I am new to the forum and would really appreciate some guidance if possible. My partner has had debt problems in the past which he is trying to resolve however we are unsure where he stands. He originally took out a personal loan 5 years ago which has since turned in to a managed loan which has been redrawn 3 times?!? We have requested what charges and ppi have been applied, to which we are still waiting on a reply. I have recently taken over the finances to try and put an end to the continued debt however as I've never had credit I don't know all the ins and outs.... His managed loan was for 13790.00 for 96months. he has not missed any payments since the last loan was issued. My questions are: a) how does this affect his/our credit rating? b) how can I tell if his cca is legally binding as to me the figures don't match up? c) I have been advised from hsbc that if he pays the amount early he will have to pay the full amount as it's "front loaded" - however he has been told by telephone that if he wishes to clear it early they will come to an arrangement - is this likely? d) Is there any chance that they would accept a severely reduced payment as full and final? Sorry so long, but so confused with all of this Thanks in advance for any help offered.... His most recent managed loan
