  1. My car has been clamped on the residential block where I live after my permit fell off my dashboard. This was just an accident, I was going to buy a new plastic wallet to stick on the window and I am aware that there are some clamping signs and that the permit must always be displayed. They have charged me £260 for what they claim to be two days, as they did this on Friday evening when I came back from work, and didn't realise until a neighboard knocked on my door on Saturday afternoon to make me aware of the situation. I argued with this clamping company on the phone, explaining that I was a resident and that I had a right to park there, but this woman kept saying that nothing changed the fact that the permitt wasn't on display, and that they wouldn’t release the car until I paid, and the longer I left it the higher the fee would be, so I had no choice but to pay. I understand that these people act like cowboys and they are on commission. What I don't understand is how they can clamp a resident when obviously they have ben employed by this leasehold block. I must highlight that I don't own a flat here, I just rent a room from my landlady who happens to be away at the moment. Do I have any chances considering that I have been living here as a tenant for the last three years? I am going to start by writing to them but I have seen really bad reviews on the Internet as apparently they tend to reject most appeals. They are called Parking Control Management and I am afraid that they are lucky enough to be registered on the ISA website. Could anyone give me a bit of advice please? Can I defend my corner? Thanks a lot.
