  1. Hello Everyone Quick update and its all good news. I got my money returned to me by the Halifax last week. What a relief!!! They told me that they are going to provide information to the police about this company as they can see that they were attempting to get all different amounts from my account and it was only that there wasn't enough money most of the time that they didn't get it!! I hope all this helps someone else. If anyone is in the same boat I wouldn't even bother trying to get them to pay you back as they will just continually fob you off. I would recommend going straight to your bank about it. I haven't heard anything back from the Ombudsman about how to make a proper complaint about them - does anyone else know what to do. I'm determined to make sure they don't get away with treating people like this. Thanks again for everyone who gave me advice through this!! Kathy
  2. That's brilliant, Muggle, you go for it. I'm going to do the same as well. If everyone gets stuck into them then they won't get away with ripping off any more people. I've only corresponded with them by email. The addresses I've used are: [email protected] or [email protected] and then there was a specific guy... [email protected] (I have no idea who he is in the organisation - he never said even though I asked what his title/position was) Good Luck!
  3. Hi All Another update and its good news! A nice chap from the halifax called me yesterday to ask for a copy of the trail of email correspondence I have between me and Cap Fin One. He said that as they have promised me a refund in these emails more than once, a refund will be straightforward. So I sent the information to him and got another call back this morning to say that the proof is all fine and a refund will automatically go back into my account on the 1st of October. This is because they have to allow 30 days from when the company promised me the refund (which was 1st of Sept). So after weeks of stress and mither its finally sorted! I hope this helps out anyone else who has had the same problem. Also thanks so much to everyone who has given me support and advice on this forum. I'll update again once I finally get my dosh back. I'll also keep everyone up to date about the complaint I'm going to try to lodge with the Ombudsman (they haven't got back to me with what to do yet).
  4. Wow that's excellent! Well done! I'm with Halifax too so fingers crossed. I went in on Thursday and completed the form. They told me it doesn't normally take long to get the funds back once they challenge the company in question. Another update is that I've emailed the Finacial Ombudsman to ask what I should do in regard to making a formal complaint and seeking compensation etc etc. If anyone has got any good advice about that I'd be most grateful. I just don't think that this company should be able to get off scot free for basically nicking £325 off me and for all the stress they've caused me and my family. As always I'll keep this thread up to date when there's any news.
  5. Well there's definitely still been no refund but I wasn't exactly convinced of their sincerity about that! I got a call back from the bank today and although they can't treat it as fraud (because I did actually give them my details albeit for a completely different agreement) they have asked me to go in to a branch and complete a 'non fraudulent dispute form'. I'm also going to give them copies of the emails I have from Cap Fin One admitting that they shouldn't have taken the money and then the bank takes it up with them to get me my refund. Fingers crossed! I'm going in to the bank on Thursday to do the form so I'll keep everyone up to date on progress.
  6. I think you're right, Robjam, about them being about to go bust. I chased up my refund by email (again) and got a reply to say that there was a 'problem with the system' and so they are having to process the refund again????? I still haven't been given any reference or specifics or details of anyone I can speak to in accounts despite asking for it more than once. I've taken your advice and spoken to my bank about this and they are going to investigate it as fraud. I'll keep this thread up to date about what happens. Thanks for your help
  7. Update - still no refund - three days have gone past. I've had a response to my chasing up email saying that my refund has been processed but no specifics again. Meaton - have you had your refund??? Does anyone have any advice on who I can complain to about this. Is it OFT? I'm not sure where to start and I've got a feeling that I'm just being fobbed off.
  8. Hi There All This is my first post but had to comment as I too am having dramas with Capital Finance One. I had a payday loan with them back in June which I paid back in full. Seemed really easy and straightforward. Since then I applied for another but got declined and thought nothing more of it until the Friday just before the bank holiday just gone when they took £325 out of my account for no reason!!!!!! I'm currently doing my best to get this back. I too have been assured that my refund is being processed and it can take up to 48hrs. They wanted to see my bank statement to prove I hadn't had the loan as from their end they insisted I'd had it. I've done all my dealings with them by email. Should this help? At least I've got something in writing, right? Is there anyone out there who has successfully got a refund from them? They said on Tuesday that the accounts team " are in the process of making the return payment but have not given a time frame". I've kept pestering by email to see if I can get them to actually say that its been processed and exactly when but they haven't given me this info. If what they say is correct then I should be getting funds today or tomorrow so I'll post again with any progress. I have to say that sadly I'm not holding my breath and I'm getting really stressed out about the whole thing. Any guidance or shared experiences would be most appreciated. Oh, forgot to say that I've opened a new account to get my wages paid into so that they can't clean me out again!!! I would recommend this to anyone else who has recently had a loan declined or maybe even if you haven't received your money - if you've got internet banking you can open a quick savings account online (that's what I did) and you've got a sort code account number straight away to give to your employer. I wouldn't leave anything to chance with this company. Look forward to anyone's comments on this. Ta very much!
