  1. If I explain quickly and briefly. I was given a gift of money from a family member coming from a land sale abroad. I banked the £20,000 and awaited the funds to clear, this was to clear £14k worth of debt i had from when i was younger and admittedly got myself into problems. The money from the land sale didn't arrive due to problems with the sale and the cheque bounced.( which we didnt find out till what happened next) I banked this on the 12th and on the 17th it was there as availiable funds, i phoned natwest asking them if this was confirmed cleared and they confirmed all was fine. I then cleared off my debts and debt free....well for a further 5 days....the funds bounced out of my account and now with a combination of interest and funds already in the bank etc...i am again £18,500 in debt this time to natwest. Now after checking my credit report they have filed '3rd person fraud' on my credit report....with re-mortgage coming up very soon this is not what i want on...can anyone help in how legal this is to do this as i have not been trialed for it anything, and have not been contacted informing me of this either they have just done it. They investigated it for 6 weeks on there end after i informed them of there error in clearing the cheque to early and they say they are well within their rights too.... Now i get a call from a VERY rude triton ( trading name for natwest) they tell me they are not going to even wait the days they have put in the letter and proceed with action....im dealing with the financial ombudsman in regards what they have done and also with the CAB... Any advice would be helpful. Thanks, Chris
